About Fool's Gambit
Fool's Gambit is a rogue-like turn-based card strategy game where you have to play and beat opponents in games of Blackjack with tarot cards. You are a nobody. You have no special talents, your ability is average. You need money to survive. The job market is closed. No one wants you. Your only chance at life is joining the Tournament. Losing carries high consequences. Survive it and the prize it yours.Fight your opponent in multiple games of Blackjack played with only tarot cards. Each card has a distinct value and effect when played. Use it to your advantage. The Tournament doesn't follow any standard rules. Navigate a randomly-generated map filled with branching paths, each leading to a different event, helpful or not. Find your way out of the map and you get to leave. Will you choose the path of cunning strategy against random odds, or will you depend on your sheer (and diminishing) luck.
- Randomly generated - each run provides different paths, choices and battles.
- Strategic gameplay - use your cards and items to gain an upper hand against your opponent.
- Equal playing field - your opponent obeys the same rules as you do. you both share the deck.

Really fun card game! I love tarot and it is really cool that this concept was used for the game. Even though you might have a certain strategy, everything can change depending on the other player hands, so it does not get boring at all. The items you get after a match help a lot, also buying lives on the shop and getting stamps for the cards. I also enjoy the concept of a randomized "board" to choose your path, and that the game has a clear goal of winning the tournament, because this motivates to get better in playing. I have only played on normal mode, and it is already pretty challenging (I haven't won the tournament yet), so I cannot even imagine how difficult it is on hard one haha :)2 found this helpful
The trailer is what initially won me over, but the interesting dynamic in the game is quite fun. It's hard enough to motivate to get better without feeling totally helpless. Very fun concept.1 found this helpful
