Here’s my experience with some of the bosses in this game: I fought the vampire boss Alucard who had a card that gave him infinite healing. The match lasted 30 minutes until I realized I was stuck in a stalemate and just conceded the run. Another boss, Greed, has a card that gives him infinite shield generation and unavoidable burst damage. He had more shield each round than I had damage so there was nothing I could do before he bursted me down. “Just deal with their cards then?” If only removal wasn't extremely rare. This game boasts “over 300 unique cards!” yet only a handful of them act as answers to problem cards so good luck drafting them. If you want a quality blackjack roguelite then get Black Jacket instead.

dungeons and degenerate gamblers is not what i had hoped it would be. i like the way it looks, the game is fun conceptually, the advertising sold me, but the gameplay totally lost me. a lot of design decisions are confusing and feel undercooked. the game ends up being tedious, unbalanced, and low-agency. things are too safe or too risky - decision-making relatively easy in practically every situation throughout the game - i often feel like the game plays itself. The tedium: - the game comes pre-"solved", you hit until you have the chance to bust, in a lot of situations, this takes ages, and is not particularly interesting or fun. - you're forced to start off with a combat before you make any changes to your deck , this can have you starting half health or lower in the worst case scenarios even with optimal play. you question if your time spent replaying that match is even worth the hp to redo it. - because healing is really slow and trickle-fed, you really can only reasonably take two or three risky hits before you're too hurt and bleed out. enemies deal damage through card effects even against perfect disruption. - the game is very softlock prone, there is combat softlock …

The opponent mulligans his cards. "Oh my god dude, are you kidding me?". The opponent plays an Ace, "Seriously dude? This is crazy." The opponent blackjack at the start of their turn. "No fckin way dude, I can't beat that." The opponent powers. "This is some crazy RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥"
