About Forest Fire

Be the Forest Fire and burn everything in sight! Forest Fire is a Rogue-lite destruction-fest where every pixel is physically simulated. Burn trees, buildings, vehicles, and tiny screaming humans. Dodge bullet-hell rain clouds and pissed-off firefighters to stay alive.

Don’t think you’ll burn unopposed. Mother nature has sent in a bullet-hell array of rain clouds and other obstacles to put an end to your destruction fest. Your flame must weave through the storm to survive. Firefighting helicopters, planes, and little firemen will also be out to get you. The more you burn their buildings the more pissed off they get (and the more combo points you get!)

This is a Rogue-lite game so each run is different. However, we still maintain a sense of progression with persistent level up points. This means you get stronger, even if you die 5000 times.

Forest Fires aren’t just limited to trees… light whole groups of people on fire, explode helicopters out of the sky, and burn famous monuments. Your destruction has no boundaries and is unimpeded by morality.

The forest is vast and unending, with a myriad of secrets hidden within her.

Thumbs up, though it has its low points. To begin with, it's a beautiful little game, satisfying thanks to the ‘physics’ of the fire. We are a flame that has to burn everything while staying lit. The enemies are mainly rivers and clouds, with patterns that turn it into bullet hell. It has five different levels/biomes, and in each one, you get to set fire to some interesting buildings, such as the White House or the Pentagon. Now, the problems begin. Game modes feel irrelevant, and the upgrades we choose don't feel that impactful, much less the permanent stat upgrades outside of the game, which means you never reach bullet heaven and are always in danger of being extinguished. I like it for passing the time, listening to music or watching videos in the background. Sale price seems more reasonable than the full price, but before buying it, I would recommend taking a look at the developer's other games. I haven't played them yet, but I intend to. Great idea that's absolutely wasted. You're a flame, but you don't burn things unless you stand still. You lose health if you don't actively personally ignite something, meaning you'll be stutter stepping the whole time, making the gameplay an awkward stutter step session. But when you burn things, it looks good, right? Kind of. Everything's extremely zoomed in, so you'll be moving past all the destruction within 1-2 seconds if you play well enough. The upgrades are all marginal and so no upgrade feels exciting in the slightest. Lightning that destroys clouds, which would damage you? Sounds like a great thing to focus on, but even at the best it destroys a cloud once per 15-20 seconds while you get around 5-10 clouds added to the screen every second. Weirdly enough, there's not even that much to burn. Forests are often extremely segmented, so even a small patch of forest might require half a dozen stutter steps to burn and they'll finish burning in a second or so. It's just not satisfying. About half way into the run you'll be thrown so many enemies (clouds) that will do elaborate movements that turn the game into a bullet hell and you'll start focusing on that rather tha…

Unfortunately I can't recommend this game. The concept is great. You're a flame that spreads fire, fears water and have to burn as much as you can, fine. Powerups are really basic and honestly not enough. In a few runs you've already seen almost everything the game has to offert in term of boosts. Levels are poor as well. Excluding some tiny differences (and the look of each one), there are no special mechanics, no different enemies. You end up playing literally the same thing over and over (or as long as you can). Even characters are nothing special honestly. I've unlocked 3 out of 5 characters and they feel almost the same. The game is cheap, but there are way more interesting similar games with way more content at a similar price, so I can't recommend this game.

It's fun and different for a while, feels more arcadey than your usual horde survivor game. The meta-progression system is weak and the power-ups are fairly meaningless. It's more bullet hell style dodging than anything else. I'm about halfway through the maps at this point.
