About Forest of Death Masks

"Forest of Death Masks" is a direct sequel to the visual novel "The Apple Tree". Solve a new case together with the police Captain Christian Tyler! After the scandalous Cronford serial murder case, Christian Tyler found herself in a difficult position. As a coin can't have just one side, 'the local heroine' title was instantly mixed up with the dubious details of the solved crime. The police station was besieged by journalists, and given the captain's ability to communicate with the public, the entire police department was under threat. That is why she is now standing under the scorching sun with a suitcase in her hands. The Corcante Embassy has requested an investigator to solve the case of the kidnapping of a famous businessman, and who better than a local heroine is suitable for this role? That's how you can hide her away from the media, right? But the darkness that lives in the captain's head has not completely weakened yet. And in this strange, abandoned place, surrounded by kilometers of forest on the one hand, and the endless ocean on the other, it flares up with renewed vigor. The predator is on her heels, and Christian will once again have to maneuver on the edge of life and death, trying to overcome her demons.

Good game, kept me on my toes until the very end. I saw one of the characters in a whole new light. Christian, as before, is admired. I would especially like to note the progress of the artist's skill, the illustrations are magical. It's wonderful that the events of the previous game influenced what happened in the story. I'm waiting for the next game!

The sequel of The Apple Tree turned out to be equally interesting. Transforming books into the visual novel format has had a positive impact on the plot. I mean, it always works well with detective stories like this, plus I love the variation in the plot. The graphics are quite unique, although Cleo's sprite left me a bit puzzled. I mean, he looks like a 12-year-old. Also I would like to see more CG scenes, but the ones present are good drawn. The map mechanics aren’t bad, but it’s a pity that I can’t choose where to go (the game always gives only one option), making it feel like a choice without a choice. Overall, I enjoyed the game. I wonder if the devs plan to make a sequel...
