Froggy's Battle

What should have been a [b]short[/b], straightforward [b]roguelite[/b] turns into an infuriatingly [b]disorienting[/b] game because of half-baked design choices. Froggy’s Battle wants to be a casual title while attempting to force difficulty using surface-level mechanics. The result is succeeding in neither. Unintuitively implemented directional controls cause unnecessary frustration. There is [b]no rebinding[/b]. Additional challenges simply spawn copious amounts of enemies. This turns achievements into [b]luck-based[/b], build-reliant struggles because viable strategies are limited to a few combat options. There are [b]no rerolls[/b]. Finally, upon defeat, the player is presented with personal views about transgender, pronouns, and capitalism as tips. Unsurprisingly, this is neither helpful nor inclusive.

the controls tweak, u have 1 second of invincibility once u get hit so u can die within 2 seconds and rng is involved. Another thing is the arrows why the ♥♥♥♥ do u make the movement with arrow keys let us choose the keybinds since most of the time you play with the right hand not left to move, thought it looked more chill from the trailer getting the achievements is actual hell.

This was a fun demo to play on Itchio and I loved playing the full game! So cute and adorable the the roguelite mechanics can get goofy. Gameplay was fun, art style was pleasant, and music was nice to boop to

This game can be fun and I like the concept, but for the most part it's just frustrating. The controls could use some tweaking, and they could also add the ability to change controls. Most upgrades are mediocre and some are just straight up terrible; they can really mess with your movement and ability to dodge enemies. Only certain combos work well and allow you to actually beat the game as the difficulty is surprisingly high (And this is BEFORE unlocking the harder difficulty). How well your run goes is pretty much entirely decided by RNG and what upgrades you get. The game is ok, but it mostly just feels unfair. 5/10 🛹🐸💦

A brilliant experience. What could be better than a little frog who wants to be cool with a sword or magic? Not to mention the skateboard! I really enjoyed playing through and finishing this game! For anyone who loves completing games 100 per cent, I definitely recommend giving this one a go.
