"Frontline: The Great Patriotic War" is a turn-based, offline, operational strategy WW2 wargame that puts you in command of the URSS Forces as they try to push their way towards the Tide of war.
From Moscow to Berlin, fight your way through many epic battles - Aim your targets carefully, counter-attack and Strategically coordinate your Squads. The study of enemy tactics and the use of Special abilities will lead to victory!
Frontline: The Great Patriotic War is a hex-based strategy World War 2 game with real historical units, maps, countries, and cities. In this wargame you get to lead your army to victory by conquering objectives in any strategy you find best.
Units improve and unlock new behaviors once they get the experience needed, abilities that will prove indispensable in battle: Camouflage, Sabotage, Over-watch, Smoke, AT grenades, Artillery barrage, Shell Shock, Transport, Special Panzers, APCR, Suppressed, Routed, M.I.A, K.I.A, Infantry Charge.

Easily the worst of the Frontline series, even after less than 30 minutes of play. The interface is clunky and difficult to follow, the graphics are convoluted and frankly, a step back from previous iterations. Bug laden: in 25 minutes I've had the turn marker disappear more than once, a save game disappear, and battle predictors get stuck even after the battles are done. And then who can forget the vaunted URSS headquarters unit? I mean, that is only the core of who you are playing as. There is also minimal stat differentiation between units: A PzIIIJ statistically equivalent to an IS2 tank? GTFO with that nonsense. All of these combine to make the game uninteresting at best and maddening at worst. Skip it and go for Frontline: Road to Moscow or Frontline: Panzer Blitzkrieg instead.4 found this helpful
Frontline is a game that may appeal to fans of beer and pretzel-style games. With its well-designed gameplay, I have found myself playing it multiple times and thoroughly enjoying the experience. Although it may appear cartoony at first, the game offers a depth of strategy that fans of Panzer Corps 2 or World War II games may appreciate. The game features unit carryover between scenarios, covering every major battle in World War II. I recommend purchasing the Frontline Complete edition, which includes all scenarios and campaigns, and is currently available at a discounted price. While it may not appeal to everyone, I have found it to be an engaging and enjoyable game. 8/101 found this helpful

very repetitive. some missions fail you for no seeming reason one didn't even come up with objectives in it
