Galactic Missile Defense is a mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is a simple, dumbed down arcade shooter where a bunch of cartoony UFOs swoop down and try to shoot your three missile bases. You need to use your finger on your iPhone screen to drag and drop ammo and upgrades, as well as tap on coins that are released by some of the UFOs you shoot (once more by tapping on them on your iPhone screen). From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the mobile app, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the mobile app, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The mobile app features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers…3 found this helpful
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of y…2 found this helpful
I really enjoyed the silly gameplay because not everything needs to be serious XD. Pros: Unique weapons that require you to adjust your playstyle to maximise their potential. Multiple enemeis feel unique and well flushed. Cons: The end game becomes: you have bullets then you are an immortal. You are out of bullets you lose. Also, sometimes you just lose purposefully because the end game can feel like a drag1 found this helpful
I love this game. It is a simple missile defence game and it provided me with many hours of fun. I strongly recommend this game if that is what you are looking for. I do not suggest buying this game if you are looking for something else.1 found this helpful
Galactic Missile Defense is an arcade-inspired defense shooter developed and published by Black Sheep Games that combines classic missile interception mechanics with fast-paced sci-fi strategy gameplay. Built around the idea of defending Earth from relentless alien attacks, the game transforms a simple defensive formula into a chaotic survival experience filled with escalating enemy waves, powerful weapon upgrades, and nonstop destruction. While its presentation remains modest and heavily focused on arcade simplicity, the game succeeds through addictive pacing, satisfying combat mechanics, and an increasingly overwhelming sense of pressure that keeps players constantly engaged. The game’s premise embraces humor and exaggerated science-fiction absurdity rather than serious storytelling. Humanity finds itself under attack by Martians after a bizarre misunderstanding involving a ruined alien picnic, leading to a full-scale invasion of Earth. This intentionally ridiculous setup immediately establishes the lighthearted tone that defines the experience. The story exists mainly to justify the endless waves of alien ships and missiles descending upon the planet, but the playful premise he…
