Resource management is the core gameplay loop, requiring careful planning and strategic decision-making.

Each WAR runs for a determined time and concludes with players earning various titles based on their performance. These titles carry over between WARS, adding a layer of prestige and continuity to your achievements.

Experience Retro Gameplay with Modern Enhancements:
Relive the classic gameplay that made "Mega Wars" a legend, now with enhanced graphics, smoother performance, and modernized controls. Galaxicus retains the charm of the original while offering a fresh experience for both veteran players and newcomers.

Played this in the mid 80s when it was text based on Compuserve and remember those huge telephone bills because Compuserve was a dial in service. With a graphics interface, this game has the same mechanics as the old game. I find it enjoyable. Each game last 4 weeks. At the beginning of a war, players find planets to colonize and use their planetary management skills to gain points for planetary growth over the 4 weeks. Players can attack other ships, destroy and loot colonies, and build and defend their own colonies. For players that like casual colony builder games this is it. It would be much more interesting if there were hundreds of players participating like in the older game.

It's a buggy, clumsy, unplayable copy of a mediocre strategy game from the 1980's. Since it is PvP only, and nobody plays (it's literally like 8 guys, 7 now), it is also totally pointless. Hard Pass.

This is a recreation of Megawars 3 for modern computers. Back in the day, games like this were some of the first real time on-line multiplayer games ever, They pre-date the World Wide Web. Compuserve, GEnie, and probably AOL all had versions of games like this. Back then, it was text based and you had to imagine what was going on and respond appropriately. For example, you might get a message "100 Points Damage on forward shields from ship at 320 degrees". You'd have to respond with something like: "Fire Torpedo 1 320 Degrees". It's was real time and tense. Today we have a display and a mouse to see and respond with. But the underlying game mechanics are true to it's origins, Today, it's much nicer to click your mouse rather than typing commands. Galaxicus is somewhat like a computer version of the "Star Fleet Battles" board game, but in real time. It's also a bit like "Master of Orion", "Tradewars 2000" and Reach For The Stars". It borrows elements of all of them but is a unique experience of it's own. It will take time to read instructions and watch tutorials. People just don't make games like this anymore and to me, they've lost something. If you know what SSI, Avalon Hill,…
