About 魔方谏言

Brief

Octameta is a distinctive 3D puzzle game that immerses players in an enduring exploration of the enigmas of human science.

Story

In a world where human civilization has collapsed, you will take on the role of an intelligent being(Robot), reconstructing and comprehending the evolution of human technology by solving a symbolic two-layered Rubik's Cube composed of technological fragments. The main focus of the gameplay lies in deciphering the Rubik's Cube, while the secondary aspect involves solving puzzles in small-scale scenarios.

Levels

We have four civilization fragments to restore. Restoring the Rubik's Cube at each stage involves an in-depth exploration of scientific principles, such as polar coordinates (representing reproduction), Newtonian gravity (representing money), circuit theory (representing religion), and Fourier transform (representing power). Those principles not only embody the scientific progress of human history, but also reflect fundamental issues of human society.

Epilogue

Every significant advancement in the field of natural science made by humanity serves as a means of reinforcing the social structure. Despite originating from pure curiosity, it invariably veers off course due to the powerful inertia of the social system.
This phenomenon recurs at every stage of human social evolution: from slavery to feudalism, and from feudalism to capitalist private ownership. Mathematics is utilized for taxation, while the information exchange facilitated by the internet progressively erects firewalls and censorship. Those all results into class solidification.

Even if humanity ultimately transitions to extinction, the exploitation of the scientific impartial stance by a select few powerful individuals will turn everything established by science into a double-edged sword poised over all of humanity.
Interesting puzzle where you spin different shapes like in rubik's cube to make objects whole again. Presentation is nice and game makes you think very hard. Controls are not always the best and sometimes a bit confusing but nonetheless short and somewhat unusual puzzle solving.
"魔方谏言" is a simple mobile app tier "Rubiks Cube" style puzzle game, basically rotate sections of a 3D model around to make the complete scene. Not sure why this needed so many suspicious looking fake reviews to garner attention, especially because there's no attached price tag. This is the kind of thing my grandmother would call a "one minute wonder", and doesn't have much lasting interest as a game. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Visually incomprehensible. Would be straightforward to brute-force, but I'd rather understand what I'm looking at.

Positive: Free to play and easy to start ✔️ Unique 3D puzzle‑solving concept where you reconstruct puzzles using mechanics tied to scientific themes — interesting and mentally engaging. Atmospheric exploration and thoughtful challenges keep momentum steady. Works well with keyboard and controller. Negative: Very little narrative beyond puzzle progression — more mechanical than story‑driven. Some puzzles take time to understand and can feel repetitive. Not a long experience overall — concise content. 🏆 Completionists & Achievement Hunters: There are 8 Steam achievements linked to key moments, puzzle mastery, and milestone completions. Achievements focus on things like completing the game and solving specific challenges, and you can target them within a single play session without needing multiple separate runs. Overall: OCTAMETA 八方元识 is a solid free puzzle experience with a distinctive blend of 3D mechanics and thoughtful design. It’s not a huge game, but if you enjoy exploratory puzzles with a mental twist and want a relatively quick run with achievable achievements, it’s worth trying.
Achievement Hunting Rating 5/5
It's free and can be done in about 30 minutes for 8 achievements. The art style is a bit overwhelming and the puzzles are odd. But still give it a go.
