电子厂之城 is a very short visual novel that I found more interesting than I expected because of how grounded its setting feels. It follows a group of young workers in an electronics factory during the early 2020s, and instead of turning their lives into some huge dramatic adventure, it focuses on ordinary people trying to figure out what they actually want from life. I liked that realistic direction because it makes the story feel much closer to everyday life than a lot of visual novels. The gameplay is almost entirely focused on reading the story and following the characters through their experiences. There are no complicated combat systems or distracting side activities, which lets me concentrate on the writing and the situations the characters find themselves in. I enjoyed the straightforward structure because the game clearly wants the story itself to be the main attraction. The factory setting also gives the game a distinctive atmosphere. Working in a modern electronics factory might sound like a very ordinary subject, but I think that is exactly why it works.
