Picture this: Two characters, different colors, platforms that match their hues. Sounds like a fun little co-op adventure, yeah? No. It's like being handcuffed to your most uncoordinated mate and told to perform synchronized swimming. The game screams "we couldn't be bothered making a decent single-player experience, so here's a cooperative nightmare!" The developers' philosophy seems to be: "If the only fun part is playing with friends, we've basically admitted our game is as entertaining as a tax audit." Brilliant strategy, that. The PC port? Oh, it's a masterclass in "how not to port a game". No resolution settings, graphics that look like they were designed on a Nokia from 2005, and controls so rigid, they make a military drill sergeant look flexible. And get this - keyboard and mouse? Forbidden! You MUST use a gamepad. It's like being told you can only eat spaghetti with a spork. The visual style? "Retro" is developer-speak for "we couldn't be arsed making something actually good". It's the gaming equivalent of wearing a vintage t-shirt from a charity shop and calling it high fashion. Gelly Break Deluxe is a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. It's a badly made co-op centric platformer where each of the two characters has a colour and can interact with special platforms of the same colour. The trick to finish each level is to have each player traverse the right obstacles. There's a co-op focus to the game, so you need to co-ordinate with your friends to play this... I guess that's easier for the developer than making a compelling single player experience. Creating content is hard! Why bother? Like I always say, if the only thing that makes a game fun is your friends, that just proves it's fun to spend time with your friends, and doesn't say much for the game at all. At least there is a single player mode where you control both characters and can switch between them, this does a good job of fixing the co-op limitation to the game, but the concept of the game isn't the problem here, it's the godawfully bad Nintendo Switch port that this trashware has. Me and my wife beat 100%. Me using UEVR and she looking at the TV. Really awesome small little gem. Highly recommended for a little coop session. Great Work Devs! :)

normal stages are boring. seemed like it had good boss fights but normal stages feel like it was made for a 5 year olds.

[i] My Experience [/i] My co-op partner and I just finished playing [b]Gelly Break Deluxe[/b] through Steam's Remote Play Together and we thought it was excellent. It would make sense to worry how such a twitchy platformer/top-down shooter would fare with streaming video, but outside of one instance when we perished after my partner lost the video stream, everything went smoothly. The mechanics of [b]Gelly Break Deluxe[/b] are simple. You'll both play as little "gellies," one orange and one green. Most of the time, you'll be stacked on top of one another. The player on the top will use their controller stick in twin-stick shooter fashion to shoot projectiles, while the player on the bottom will navigate and jump. At any time, both players can press a button on their controller to switch positions, meaning that the navigating/jumping player will now be in the turret position and vice versa. There are green platforms and bounce pads that can only be used when the green player is on the bottom (navigating), while there are orange platforms and bounce pads that can only be used when the orange player is on the bottom.
