Meh. I'm going to tell you to save a few monies and just play Gem TD in DOTA via the Arcade. It's very simple, and it's simply just build a maze/wall and shoot the things. There are in-game purchases, otherwise, you have to grind through the levels to get diamonds and then coins to buy upgrades. If you want the experience, use DOTA with Gem TD from the Arcade. If you want a standalone game, this is fine.3 found this helpful
Having never played the original Gem Tower Defense Flash Game, I didn't have much of an expectation coming into this. But with that being said, I genuinely think this game has a lot of potential and is genuinely fun to play. There is a decent amount to learn about the different gem combinations and evolutions it seems, and for the price, this isn't a bad experience at all.2 found this helpful
Still feeling my way on this interesting Tower Defense title. Each run I seem to learn a little bit more. Gives you plenty to think about with the mazing and gem combination elements. The game will actually notify you of potential gem combinations. Initially had a problem with the gem placement options, but I found it came down to requiring a very gentle pressure of the mouse press (I problem I have never encountered before - maybe it has something to do with a touch screen option). I played the flash version of this game back in the mid 2000's and was surprised to see this remake. This tower defense lets you build a maze with lots of freedom, but challenges you to adapt due to the combination of towers available to you at any given time. There is also a maze planner feature that lets you make a template to view during a run. The localization is made through google translate and the user interface is "jank", but well enough to be played. I bought this two days ago (as of this writing) and have 17 hours of playtime. game is straight up broken, do not buy
I'm not sure if something in the game has broken over the years as I see some positive reviews that make little sense, or if those issues were simply ignored, but close to half of the towers are coded wrong, have 0 attack speed and just sit there doing nothing.
