About Gemstone Defense
Gemstone Defense is a single player tower defense game where players can construct mazes that enemies will have to navigate in order to reach key checkpoints before they can proceed to the next area. Each wave, players will place gems to form their maze and select one tower (gem) to keep. The remaining gems are converted to mazing rocks which enemies will have to navigate around. Players can upgrade gem quality, build special gems and discover the best mazes and secret towers. Can you make it to the end?

This is a decent remake of the one damage mode. The gameplay is enjoyable. However, with only one mode at varying difficulties, re-playability may be affected. Air rounds are super easy in early rounds and on lesser difficulties, but when Endless mode begins, the Air creeps are much stronger. I don't think hitting round 100 is possible. The HP curve of the baddies is too steep. There's a bug where after a gem was included as a piece of a combination, that gem stays with the combination highlight even after another gem of the same type took its place in the combination. I'd like to see Swarm mode added as well as the other modes and features found in the version of Gem TD in Starcraft2's Arcade; like Timed mode and having the status and potential of combinations show when you click a gem during the build phase. Different creep skins would add some flavor, too!3 found this helpful
Really borderline on this one, very close to giving it a negative review, but I am feeling generous. In short, it is an interesting concept, poorly executed, leaving me with a feeling that it is not complete. It is very much a maze building TD game, something people can love or hate. There is only one map, though several levels of difficulty. The map has a handful of checkpoints which the foes must touch in order before leaving. Every fourth wave is fliers, however, which ignore the maze, so you do need to try and keep your maze near the base path, which the fliers will follow. There is also a boss. These three seem to be the only monster types however, which is a bit weak. The core mechanism is that you lay five gems at the start of each turn, but only keep one of them, converting the others to powerless stones which form the maze, along with the gems. There are a good number of gem types, and each gem has several levels of quality, topped off at perfection. (There is actually one higher, great, but these are very rare, requiring you to get two perfect in the same turn, and combining them. It is almost always worth it though.) In addition you can combine certain gem types int…1 found this helpful
