First contact didn't go as planned, when aliens woke Murray Mendelson up from his afternoon nap. Armed with his musket and inconsolable rage, Murray must defend his home against all odds. Why are the aliens only attacking this one house? Who knows?! [h2]I completed the lawn for the achievements years ago, and it was excruciating[/h2] Get Off My Lawn is fun at first, but after a few playthroughs you start questioning why you’re still playing. Oh right, achievement hunting. Something I totally don’t do anymore. At least that’s what I keep telling myself. The game is basically an action tower defense spin on Plants vs. Zombies, except this time it’s an old man defending his lawn from waves of aliens trying to abduct him. The core gameplay revolves around choosing when to shoot, where to focus your attacks, and upgrading your weapons so the aliens never stand a chance. At first the difficulty curve feels decent, then it becomes easy, then hard again, and eventually the repetition starts to wear thin. If you’re a normal human being, there’s a good chance you’ll get bored long before finishing everything the game has to offer. Still, it’s free, and there is some dumb fun to be had for a while. I just wouldn’t strongly recommend grinding it out unless you’re chasing achievements. Fun quirky tower defense with a grumpy old man theme, addictive gameplay loop. Recommended.
6/10 Please, just get off his lawn already! It's a simple game akin to WildTangent games on Windows back in the day, nothing much else to say about it.
