XCOM with anime girls based on weapons? Sign me up!
Jokes aside, I've been playing this game since its release, and it's actually pretty decent. The character designs are cute and detailed (maybe a bit too much in certain places...). The gameplay is solid, though in the endgame it feels more like a puzzle game than a proper XCOM (maybe it was always like that, right?). The story is interesting, to say the least, and it always maintains a personal touch that I really like. As for the overall gacha, even though it features the same 50/50 model as other popular gachas... the rewards are very generous. I'm not kidding when I say I have almost every unit (I think I'm missing 4) in the game and managed to save over 500 pulls for Loreley and Chayanne. I think that, unlike other games, it's quite generous in that regard. I should mention that the game has made decisions that a lot of the player base didn't agree with, such as the gacha skins. Game modes like Boundary Push/Phase Clash and Gunsmoke are incredibly boring, yet they are part of your weekly content. Even so, the devs have significantly improved the game in other areas since launch. Especially in the Quality of Life…

I'm a big fan of the original GFL and have been very happy with how this is it's own game, but still pays plenty of homage to the original. The gameplay can be complicated but the game walks you through everything well at the start. Very easy to spend hours a day.

I don't understand why or how this game is this good. For a free-to-play gatcha game, the depth here is insane... tactical combat? Excellent. Guncrafting? All the mods. Buildcrafting? Plenty. Top-down stealth shooter mode? Check! Rotating events with unique gameplay mechanics? Got it. Wanna take your military-grade weaponized t-doll on a cute date? Sure. Cooking mechanics with custom recipes, a literal cafe, water some plants, play in the pool, catch a scary movie, the list goes on and on and on.... did I mention it's free? Play the game enough and you earn all the in-game currency you need to progress. I usually don't like "anime games," I usually don't like "gatcha games," and yet... I'm HOOKED. 200+ hours in and haven't even touched the multiplayer.

good game one thing to note though is that the sexual imagery of the characters is sometimes very very noticeable but its a gacha game.
