About God's Disdain
Embark on a quest to cure a plague that is bringing the land of Hajimari to its knees. Explore the land and uncover its many secrets while meeting the last of its inhabitants. Will you help Hajimari thrive, or doom it to wither away?
STORY
The four nations of Hajimari have been struck with a plague that has put the entire island in peril. All plant life has slowly started to die away, causing conflict between the Grizz, Faerials, Komurans, and Haji. Many people have lost their lives not only to the plague, but wars between the nations as well. The islanders tried praying to the gods they worship, but received no answer. Many have given up, and many say the gods are dead.
All seemed hopeless, but sometimes hope can come from the most unsuspecting of spirits.
Tamiko and her brother Kenshin reside in the village of Komura on the southwest side of Hajimari. They've witnessed their family and friends die from the plague and other islanders which has compelled them to find the source of the plague and destroy it. They will meet friends and enemies alike on their journey, including the highly intelligent Locke, the child prodigy thief Avadel, the banished maniac Drago, and the powerful grandma Zeniba.

I saw this game elsewhere and did not watch the trailer here until now. A lot of things made this game seem quite serious, but once I encountered the marijuana dungeom and the main villain (?) I got upset. They still feel like a bad fit after many many hours in this grinding nightmare of extremely bad enemy design. I have been searching way too long for the stupid volcano too. For some rreason, every random encounter is inescapable. There are also often unavoidable rock trap areas that drop rocks on you based on how much time you spend, including looking at chest ccntents and maybe using the menu. Also, there is a class system with basically no value except weapon options and magic access. Every skill is generally the same damage with the same upgrade levels. Elemental weakness only seems important to the player's armor. Also most equipment is essentially the same and the airship can not do anything to speed the adventure up.2 found this helpful
Main bug: my party just stands around me and nothing happens when I enter the boss area of the volcano. Other bugs: I got stuck in the wall of the catacombs and couldn't get out. I had to fight the boss, die, and revive to get out of the wall. I got stuck in the planks near the entrance of the treasure cave and somewhere else in that same cave that I don't remember. There are two doors that are locked and the lockpicking girl will locking them and they will still be closed. (Maybe they open as part of a story event later?) They are in the Komuran capital and in a cave that I don't remember the name of.1 found this helpful
I really like the hand drawn art and voice acting. Fun little JRPG style game.
the trailer hooked me making me think it was going to be a funny ironic game but sadly no. I appreciate the effort put into making custom characters and music, but all of that combined with the awful use of rpgmaker assets gave me a migraine.
