Godless grove

[b][u]Curator Review:[/u][/b] [b]Godless Grove[/b] is labelled as a [i]Survival Horror[/i], but I think it is far from it. Before we get into this too deeply, I did try to enjoy this title, but found myself getting confused quite quickly - I will keep pushing through for a few more hours to see if anything changes. But for now - my honest opinion can be found below. Like, as much as I wish to recommend this title due to having this provided to me through, Steam Curator Connect. I just can't bring myself to that point. From the confusing map layout, very little 'hints' on what to do, to the lack of functionality. Let me bring you to the start though! First, you wake up in a forest, with a gun and some ammo. You locate your first deer, that just stands still and doesn't move. You're then immediately attacked by some wolves. This requires you to use some 'bandages' - but no crafting menu on how to create this item. You either die from blood loss, or die due to exhaustion. Again, no mechanic that I have found to do either of those things. You harvest the animals, which provide you with some pelt, horns and raw meat - again - no way to cook. Great atmosphere, terrible everything else. I was excited to receive Godless Grove through Curator Connect. And that excitment continued throughout the tutorial. It looks great, the atmosphere is eerie, the monsters look cool. Unfortunately, the game is just flat out broken. UI elements are always active, meaning I can have 3 menus open and still click the door to leave a building. This led to my first crash. Sometimes animations will get stuck in a loop. This softlocks you, because you can't perform any action beside the one looping. The only way to stop this is to exit to menu. Saves ONLY work for progress. Your items are reset to default every time. So you grinded up a bunch of ammo and bandages? Don't save and quit, or it's all gone. Grabbed 2 of the bodies for the first objective? Better get the 3rd before you get off, or you're starting over. And that circle of light around you? It's pointless. You can only see in the triangle in front of you, so a wolf can be sitting on top of you and still be invisible to you. Plus, the triangle is EXTREMELY slow to move.
