Gods Will Fall

Despite the rng in this game, I really like it. I like that the levels are chill when it's on the easier difficulties. I like that there are more unique enemies that keep you alert on the highest difficulties, while still giving you the ability to weaken the gods/bosses by killing their minions, or vassals as the game calls them, and also gives you some very powerful weapons upon completing said difficult levels. I like the combat system, which despite most people saying it is buggy and unforgiving I think is actually quite good. You get light and strong attacks that are ok. You get a dash/parry that, while unconventional, is really strong once you remember the attack patterns of enemies since you not only parry, but can also get life back with the blood mechanic and can grab and throw enemies into the void if the parry is perfect, which is not that hard to pull off against most enemies. The only times I had a hard time fighting was when playing for the first time (obviously) or when I dashed WAY too early or too late against enemies I haven't seen before. Interesting mechanics and gameplay loop but it doesn't feel good :(

Gods Will Fall is a grim, atmospheric action-roguelike that throws you into a world where humanity has suffered under the cruelty of ancient gods for generations. I don't care about Winsor!!!

Honestly? This game leaves a lot to be desired. Unless you have a controller, the keybinding is clunky as hell. There's probably a better way to parry with the controller. I wouldn't know, and I'm not planning on playing long enough to find out. Unless you have the spear, you're SOL. Seriously, if you don't have a spear, don't bother.

One big problem with this game, that ruins the rest of the game......movement and attack direction controls are so poor, usually, the mouse is usually used to direct the attack, and keys to move, not here, the mouse will not direct the attack, the keys do both attacking and movement creating frustrating game play, I only paid £1.50 for this game and I have played it for 72 minutes, that will be the extent of my playing time.
