Yeesh, this game needs work. Clearly this game is drawing massive amounts of inspiration from Thrill of the Fight. Which is fine, I wish there were more games like TotF. The problem is, this game is doing everything that TotF is trying to do, and nothing more. Yet it does everything so much worse than TotF, and these developers have the balls to charge 2.5x as much as TotF? Honestly, its kind of insulting. I understand this game is in Early Access, but according to their EA post below, “The single player portion of the game is about 60% of the way done." 60%??? There are only 4 fighters, all of whom I beat on the first try, all within 20 minutes. There is no accrued damage, so you dont see bruising on your opponent, nor do they seem to adapt to your offense and cover areas that are hurting like fighters do in TotF. I also have no idea how the damage works, punching as hard as I can seems to have no benefit over weakly tossing my hands around. The punching bags don't even give you any damage information in this game, that leads me to believe there isn't even a punch force system in place at all. The opponent AI is also complete trash. 90% of the time they only guard the front of …26 found this helpful
"I guess I'm gonna have to fight." These powerful words, famously spoken by Rocky Balboa, perfectly encapsulate the exhilarating experience that awaits you in Golden Gloves VR, step into the virtual ring and prepare to unleash your inner fighter like never before! Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=segtjqyBxp8 Golden Gloves VR offers a wide range of gameplay modes and training exercises, providing endless hours of fun and excitement. Whether you want to test your skills in a thrilling championship match or hone your technique through intense training sessions, this game has it all. The attention to detail in every aspect of the game is truly impressive, from the realistic boxing mechanics to the lifelike crowd reactions that make you feel like a true champion. But what truly sets Golden Gloves VR apart is the intuitive and responsive controls. The developers have done an outstanding job of translating the physicality and precision of boxing into virtual reality, allowing players to throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts with fluidity and accuracy. It's a genuinely empowering feeling to land a knockout blow and witness your opponent hit the mat, as the crowd erupts in cheers arou…15 found this helpful
Good VR game, the audio quality is quite good, nice graphics and the AI's punches are smooth, but I don't like how if you hit the ai hard enough he goes flying back and sometimes out of your play area, also the punches get caught on stuff a lot which makes it hard to throw combos, you throw a hook and it can get caught on his arm so its hard to pull it back, but its in early access and was just released on steam6 found this helpful
The second best boxing VR game out there! I've played a lot of VR boxing games, and am always hoping to find a new one that doesn't suck. Unfortunately, most suck. The only good ones I've ever found are Thrill of The Fight and Creed. Creed isn't great, but it's passable. Fortunately, I've now found this hidden gem. This game isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good if you're looking for a boxing simulator and have already beaten all of the guys in Thrill of The Fight a million times like I have. Pros: Boxing beat saber mini game - It's probably the best part of the game, wish it synced more with music or something, but it's good. Opponents stay in the designated play area - A big problem with other boxing games is that the opponents often just leave the boxing area, and you end up running into the wall or something. Fortunately opponents in this game do a good job of staying within the play area, so you can box without worrying about space. Realism - The game is going for a realistic feel, which is really nice. Cons: Boxing is too easy. The opponents are a little slow and dumb. They move around like turtles. None of them compare to the money maker in Thrill of the Fight.…1 found this helpful
Great Game! I thought it was crazy there is a minigame in this that feels like beat saber but for boxing. I had a lot of fun playing around on that and felt like it improved my reaction time! I Played the career mode which has increasing difficulty in fights which was surprisingly tiring! Definitely recommend! Also I made a video doing a bunch of silly stuff in game Gameplay: https://youtu.be/wBugGejQTyQ
