About Goodnight Butcher

It's the graveyard shift at Happy Knife Co.

You're a butcher working the night shift at a run-down meatshop, but you're not alone. You must use machines found throughout the butchery to saw, chop, grind, mince, and otherwise prepare meat for tomorrow's customers, while avoiding the terrifying apparitions which haunt the old building, or perhaps your own mind.

Play through Story Mode to discover the horrifying truth behind the mysterious Happy Knife Butchery and its sole employee, then take your skills into Nightmare Mode to see how quickly you can fill the meat case without dying. Compete against your friends for the fastest time.

Rewarding arcade style gameplay
Spine-chilling atmosphere, sounds, and environments to explore
Old school hand-drawn graphics, nostalgic without pixel art
Numerous monsters and hazards across 13 detailed rooms
Butchery process based on real world practices
Extra challenging “Nightmare Mode” for hardcore players
...and more

Goodnight Butcher is a craptastic Adobe Flash game with MS-Paint pixel "art", and if that's not enough to cause you to scroll right past this in search of better games, there's more and it's worse. In an attempt to be "edgy" because being a butcher is sometimes a gruesome job, this Flash game is set in a butcher shop and has a predictably gruesome/gory theme. How very edgy, that will generate so many sales. Actually most of the sales of this game are due to the availability of trading cards. The game itself is crap, as you wander around a huge, cavernous butcher shop with more rooms than a Las Vegas hotel, doing 2D top down adventuring stuff and inventory management... except all badly done, because this is done in Flash. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, it's a blend of old retro pixel "art" used as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics, and some of the most amateurish MS-Paint style drawings I've ever hurt my eyes on. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall …

Goodnight Butcher is a horror experience developed and published by Perfect Square Studios that blends survival tension with workplace simulation mechanics in a way that feels both unusual and deeply unsettling. Rather than placing players into haunted mansions or abandoned hospitals, the game chooses a far more ordinary setting and slowly transforms it into something terrifying. Built around managing responsibilities inside a butcher shop during a late-night shift, the experience creates fear not only through supernatural encounters but also through the pressure of trying to continue working while reality steadily unravels around you. Players take the role of an employee working overnight at Happy Knife Co., a meat processing business that immediately feels uncomfortable long before true horror elements fully emerge. The building feels isolated and worn down, carrying an atmosphere that suggests something is wrong even during quieter moments. What begins as a routine shift centered around handling equipment and preparing products gradually turns into a nightmare as strange disturbances begin appearing throughout the workplace. One of the game's strongest ideas comes from how it …

Do you think blood and entrails are edgy and cool? If so, you're in the right place! This game reminds me of almost every Newgrounds flash horror game that would show up in the weekly top charts back in 2003. It's spoopy to the young ones perhaps, but kind of meandering and generic for my taste. The art and music is decent, but the perspective gets wonky with how the environmental items are drawn.
