Gorescript, developed and published by Sergiu Bucur, is a retro-inspired first-person shooter that proudly channels the spirit of 1990s arena FPS classics while incorporating modern refinements to enhance accessibility and replayability. From the moment the game begins, it becomes clear that its design philosophy is rooted in speed, precision, and relentless combat. Rather than pursuing cinematic storytelling or expansive open-world exploration, Gorescript focuses on delivering tightly constructed levels packed with enemies, secrets, and high-intensity firefights. The result is an experience that feels both nostalgic and deliberately streamlined for players who appreciate pure, mechanics-driven action. The gameplay structure centers around 18 handcrafted levels that emphasize exploration as much as combat. While enemy encounters are frequent and aggressive, progression often depends on locating hidden switches, discovering secret passages, and collecting key items scattered throughout the map. Secrets are not merely optional bonuses; in many cases, uncovering them is essential to advancing. This design encourages thorough exploration and rewards attentiveness, echoing the maze-lik…1 found this helpful
This game is exactly as I remember it (well, the demo anyways) 6-7 years ago on the chrome web store. It's a true classic that lives up to the likes of it's predecessors such as Doom and Quake, with a good voxel flair. the combat is paced well, the weapons never feel too powerful or weak, and the few "overpowered" weapons have reasonable drawbacks that make them all the better.1 found this helpful
INCREDIBLY great game, I played the classic version back maybe 5 or so years ago and really liked it. And this is EVEN better. Runs completely smoothly, good amount of content, fun gameplay (although its kinda hard) And an amazing game overall Only complaint is For some reason the display is capped at 60fps, I'm getting more than 60fps (Seen with Nvidia overlay) but my monitor is only updating at 60hz (I have a 144 hz monitor) If you're used to higher than 60fps It looks a little choppy at first, but you get used to it pretty quickly and it feels smooth enough (This might just be my computer being weird but idk)
found the online version and really like the full. big W
