About Grave of the Petrified

Grave of the Petrified is a single-player VR game. Set in an ancient Greek temple where Medusa has been sneaking around for centuries, petrifying whoever crosses her path, the player will go through a spine-tingling escape experience. Surrounded by statues of prior adventurers and fighters who have been turned into stone throughout history one must find the keys for the door to get out. But avoid Medusa’s gaze at all cost – otherwise you will also become a part of the graveyard.

The game was completed within 10 weeks, the platforms used are PC and HTC Vive. Eerily realistic statues and some environment assets are achieved by using photogrammetry.

Index user: Not compatible with modern VR headsets, Worst movement controls EVER! Medusa has ZERO AI... she just approaches you. Looking in her direction when she's facing you doesnt stone you. Game fades out when she glides over top of you at parking lot speed. It's a really cool idea... but a complete failure at execution. Devoid of commitment to produce anything other than a scene to look at. Honestly feels like the medusa danger was a complete after-though slapped on 5 min before release.

Short and sweet. Features a tall snake lady that slithers and giggles through a temple. Breaking pots is fun, but she does hear you when you break them so be ready to swing your arms wildly. Has a spooky vibe, is fun, but it's still a free game. Don't set your expectations high. Enjoy it for what it is.
