A lone pilot, far from home, must navigate an abstract universe of uncharted planets and space stations guarded by mysterious, hostile aliens in Gravitar: Recharged. You must complete missions in each solar system, navigating a variety of challenging environments, each with varying levels of gravity that will test your skills as a pilot. Complete each mission within a solar system and you will be transported to the next through a massive black hole. Will you ever make it home?
With Gravitar: Recharged Atari revisits an incredibly ambitious arcade title. The 1982 original took the rotate, thrust and fire mechanics of Asteroids and Space Duel, combined them with the gravity of Lunar Lander, and added exploration and elements of cave flying. The result was an extremely challenging arcade game that was eventually ported to the Atari 2600. The game, which did not achieve broad commercial success, has become a cult classic among Atari enthusiasts.
The visual aesthetic of Gravitar: Recharged takes the Recharged series in a new direction, with expansive environments rendered in painterly style and pastel tones. In the capable hands of industry-veteran composer Megan McDuffee, the original soundtrack complements the art style with soothing, atmospheric tracks that evoke a sense of wonder.

[h2]This is the only game in Atari's Recharged series that I didn't finish... and it's a stinker![/h2] I just could not get into Gravitar Recharged. The controls felt awkward and clumsy, and I never enjoyed the overall flow of the game. It felt like one of those physics-based games where you're constantly fighting the controls instead of the actual challenge. That's not my idea of fun. This is definitely the worst game in the Recharged series. I ended up enjoying eight out of the ten games, but this wasn't one of them. I've played through all of Atari's Recharged series. Cracking game. Love it. All the Atari recharged games are brilliant and really do the job.

Man, it really sucks to say this, because I love the idea of a game like Asteroids but with missions, objectives, a little bit of ship maintenance and a few decently difficult enemies. It sounds like a great idea for a video game, hell... I myself, would love to make a video game like this! What a great idea! And then comes the execution. Yikes. It's a great idea, great potential and i really can see how, if done effectively, this game could be really fun and interesting to play and go for high scores on, but it's just not there right now. First off, the controls suck ass, I mean you can change them via settings, but not really. Say you don't wanna used W to move forward, you can change that... however... you cannot change the fact that A and D are used to turn?! Why is that not a thing? Wanna use a controller, that's arguably worse to control than the damn keys for a Keyboard lol Art style is great though, I mean it really does look nice and i enjoy the atmosphere of it all (no pun intended) and the relaxing music in the background gives a nice sense of exploration and even if the game can feel a tad limiting, it's a nice vibe and backdrop while flying around, especially in the …
