About GUILT: The Deathless

WHAT IS GUILT: THE DEATHLESS?

  • Guilt is a roguelike action-RPG adventure set in a persistent world all players affect
(Note: Does NOT require internet to play)
  • Beware your guilt: the less guilty you are, the longer you may survive
  • Unlock shortcuts, share loot and build altars – to help (or hinder) others
  • Explore a non-linear world map and procedurally-generated levels, across multiple twisted landscapes
  • Unravel a dark fantasy tale inspired by Slavic folklore
  • Tread carefully: your character can die permanently, but the impact you and other players make on the world will remain

BEG FOR FORGIVENESS: Challenging freeform combat

  • Brutal but balanced real-time combat that will put your skills to the test
  • Slice, dodge and manage stamina as you slay foes small and large
  • Equip your character with an endless array of powerful weapons, armors, spells and enchantments

SHARE THE REALM: A lonely path – not a lonely world

  • Your journey is solitary and unique – but the world is shared with other players
  • Contribute to – or steal from – world-changing projects with others
  • Uncover signs of others’ passing: loot, corpses, constructions...
  • Hunt for your own corpse from past lives – but make haste, or others will beat you to it
  • Traverse varied territories, from a sea of shipwrecks to an underground library

WALK THE TRAIL: A dark and violent tale

  • A rich fantasy adventure through a dark and twisted world inspired by Slavic folklore
  • After a world-ruining disaster, the great sorcerer Koschei locks you into a dark pact to save the realm. Will you heed his every command?
  • Encounter twisted, enigmatic characters who might enrich you – or ruin you – on your journey

Such an interesting little game with a really unique art style and surprisingly decent combat. But sadly, I think the devs abandoned it. edit - I guess its not abandoned. Will happily change to positive if the game ever comes out.

Really love the graphics and overall aesthetic of the game. Reminds me of American McGee's Alice. Overall gameplay is quite fun, huge skill trees, simple but satisfying souls-like combat, good loot system. Still in Early Access, so the game is pretty short. But so far i was having fun.

Solid, creepy-ass game. Soulsroguelike. Has some issues here & there & menu/settings are still kinda clunky, but it IS in early access. Still think it is a buy IMHO.

I always sigh when I hear about a new game and it's a roguelike, I feel pretty fatigued with them and they need to be something special to keep me interested. This one is one of my favourites. I'll try to keep it quick and easy to read with bullet points: + I adore the artstyle, charmingly macabre and lo-fi, but full of detail and effects that really bring the dying, rotting world to life, ironically enough. It makes me think of Tim Burton-esque puppets, equal parts creepy and cute. If you love this artstyle as much as I do, you should look at Blood Typers, another game by these developers. + It's easy to see where they got their mechanical inspirations from, and they implement them well. You have the Dark Souls combat, the item mechanics from a Diablo game but improving your gear has a much larger focus, a randomised skill web from Path of Exile, graves from Nioh, although instead of summoning other players' spirits, you get to loot them instead. They all work together to make something really nice and fun to engage with. + It runs perfectly. No optimisation issues, easily 100+ fps at all times, no hitching or stutters, nothing. It's kind of sad nowadays this isn't just a given…
