About Gunslinger

The westward movement continued unabated, and the American West grew and flourished with fire and blood. The era proved the balance between order and chaos. From gangsters trying to establish power through violence and fear to police chiefs trying to protect the barriers of civilization, they choose to use guns to uphold the established laws.
You're the sheriff of a small wilderness town, everyone knows your name, and no one challenges your authority. And then there's a bunch of out-of-town gangsters trying to challenge your authority, trying to commit a crime in your town.
If they don't know the rules, why don't you tell them the rules with a gun.

Game features:

 • Refreshing shooting experience: unlimited ammo and automatic reloading, bringing the most romantic shooting experience.
 • Death’s Eye: Players aquire ‘Death’s Eye’ after combo killing . All enemies and bullets will slow down.
 • Upgrade skills to become stronger: Upgrading skills not only can unlock dual-gun mode, but also helps you challenging more difficult levels.
 • Strike at the right time: You can hide behind obstacles in the level and wait for opportunities to defeat enemies.
 • Wild Maxim mode: You can use Maxim heavy machine guns to defeat swarms of enemies in specific levels.
 • Classic Western Duel Mode: You have to pick up the gun after count down time and shoot all the enemies before you lay down. After completing the first level, you can enter this Quick Gun Duel Mode.

My RoomScaleVR non-recommendation: "Gunslinger is a very generic, poorly implemented wave shooter that feels like a tech demo from the early HTC Vive era. Not worth your time nor your money." -- On the positive side, Gunslinger is clearly set in a cool Western-themed level with pretty decent models and consistent visual vibe. On the negative side is everything else. Controls are poorly implemented. Support for anything other than Vive wands is terrible. You can use anything, mind you, if you know the buttons and how to remap them via SteamVR. The overall experience is simple enough that figuring out controls shouldn't be too complicated. However, the simplicity is a double-edged sword that also means you get almost no room for challenge outside of basic point-and-shoot gameplay. There's not much to worry about. Gameplay is inconsistent. Sometimes, you're behind cover. Sometimes, you just warp right into a wall where nobody can hurt you. The constant forced teleport and angle changes can be disorienting and definitely ruins the immersion. There are some sliding moments as well which may cause some people so…

Gunslinger is a paid VR on-rails arcade shooter game set in the wild west. It worked on my Index and HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was barely understandable. Has English voice over but it is maybe an Australian doing a weird Wild West imitation, very hard to understand, no subtitles. You are shooting your way through a map, hitting each station while waves of different western thugs are attacking from many direction. Your gun does have the laser pointer though. Might wanna shoot some of the environmental objects for new weapon or explosives. The English text is understandable. This is roguelike. Maybe buy this shooter game on sale, if you like shooter games. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program. Disclaimer: I've received this game for free via Curator Connect. Generic standing wave VR shooter. There were ton of games just like this one in 2016-2018, except they were much better looking and more fun to play. Gun handling is poor: there is no haptic feedback even from machine gun and shotgun. Enemies are poorly animated and programmed. One time I started the game on Medium, then wanted to get back to the main menu. But menu button did not work on Reverb G2, so I decide to let AI shoot me. I went in the open against 7 enemies and stood there for literal minutes, and got hit only once! It was like fighting against imperial stormtroopers, AI was intentionally missing me even at point blank range. I tried the same thing on hardest difficulty and it was the same situation. There are two additional modes other than main campaign: extended turret section and duels. But they are as bad as the main game. Visuals are poor even by Quest standards, spatial sound is very imprecise. And both enemies and protagonist never shut up: they spit the same 3-4 lines every few seconds. Works on Reverb G2 using Oculus settings in-game for proper gun alignment

Could have been a not bad game if it had a setting to switch the blood color from drugged green to normal red. Not everyone is such a prude.

I actually bought this game cause I wanted a more realist style cowboy rail shooter than the cartoony style of Guns N Stories. For a price of a sandwich its well worth it. Its fun but I don't like so far the green blood. Reminds me of playing Doom on the SNES. I can handle the B movie accent of the narrator and the recycled enemies and voices (Male voices from the women). The animals don't fit the western theme but this isn't American made so I imagine they don't know that tigers don't belong in the Wild West. Overall its good fun on sale.

I have to give this game a thumbs up because the cover art looks cool in my Steam library. It's an average game though. The shotgun feels good. A better game like this is Saloon Showdown. Which isn't great either but kind of similar.
