Unfortunately, the game is dead. It stayed in early access for years and didn’t receive a single update. Eventually, when Steam started issuing warnings for early access games that hadn’t been updated in years, the developer remembered the game and made a few minor changes. Later, with another update, they broke the screen visibility. Right now, half of the screen is not visible in the game. Yes, the version from years ago was actually more playable than it is now.4 found this helpful
The game is unfortunately abandoned, it seems, rather give it a skip.3 found this helpful
Hacker Evolution IMMERSION, developed and published by exosyphen studios, is a cerebral and highly specialized hacking simulator that strives to bring players as close as possible to the feel of working inside real command-line environments. Instead of leaning on Hollywood-style hacking theatrics or fast-paced minigames, the game embraces a minimalist terminal-based interface and a narrative centered on conspiracies, hidden systems, and the evolution of digital technology. From the outset, players are dropped into a world where information is currency, and every action leaves a trace. The gameplay revolves around navigating interconnected servers, exploiting vulnerabilities, and managing your digital footprint as you carry out increasingly complex intrusions. Each command executed through the terminal interface serves a purpose, whethe…1 found this helpful
WARNING: DO NOT BUY unless you hate your sleep schedule! I bought this game thinking I would just "quickly check it out" for 15 minutes. It is now 4:00 AM, my eyes are bleeding, I'm seeing glowing green terminal text when I blink, and the FBI is probably monitoring my smart fridge. Thanks a lot, developers. === The Good === • Instant God Complex Within 10 minutes, you'll genuinely believe you can bypass mainframe firewalls and download more RAM. • Hollywood Accuracy Perfectly captures that movie vibe where typing frantically on a keyboard solves global geopolitical crises. • Atmosphere The immersion is so real I accidentally unplugged my router because I thought a rival script kiddie was tracing my IP. === The Bad === • Completely ruined my social life. (Not that I had one, but still.) • Does NOT actually teach you how to wipe your student loan data from government servers. Highly disappointing. • My girlfriend left me because I kept calling her a "low-priority security breach." === Verdict === 10/10 If you want to feel like Neo from The Matrix while sitting in your underwear eating cold pizza, this is your game. Slap that thumbs-up button so the government can't find t…
