About Hallowed Encounter
Just what you needed to put you in the pre and post Halloween mood! A mysterious and spooky evening governed by your interactions with the local Halloween Trick-or-Treaters!
Story
Players jump into the world of Weston Norris on Halloween night. As one of the town's popular CEOs, he is held to a high standard in the public eye. After previously losing his daughter on Halloween night of last year, this Halloween has become immensely difficult to bear. After arriving home from work, he decides to lock up for the night in hopes of being left alone. Throughout the night children from the apartment complex's annual Trick-or-Treat fest come knocking on his door. The player must survive the night in his apartment by keeping lights turned off and silencing any noises. Mr. Norris cannot have his position in the community compromised over such a small Halloween festivity. As the night goes on, it becomes, strangely, increasingly difficult to do so. Strange things begin to happen as the clock ticks down to the end of the night. Is this his own daughter coming back to haunt him? Or something much more sinister? Try making it until 10pm and you'll find out for yourself.
Created on CryEngine 5 by the makers of The Legend: A University Story.

This title was intended as a seasonal, yet enjoyable way of spending your time this fall. Currently, we are only releasing version 0.9.0 and not the final 1.0.0 release product. This is simply due to ensuring that we can tackle as many issues and bugs reported by the community prior to launching a full-launch edition of this title. Our team consists of one developer, one assistant and a sound team. We will always try to address any issues you may encounter as quickly as possible, if any at all, but please keep us informed. We hope you enjoy this title and the story it brings with it!

What Steam players say

This will be my first and only Steam review (probably) ever. Do NOT waste your money on this shovelware. I am rarely dissappointed as it is my job to play video games for a living, but I am now rethinking all of my choices that led to this point in my life. To cut to the chase, this is unplayable garbage and the $4 you spent on it could have been used for literally ANYTHING else, and it would be infinitely more worthwhile than flushing it down the Steam Greenlight toilet. Please STOP making PAID games until you understand what the ♥♥♥♥ you are doing.9 found this helpful
Before whatever the new update was, I saw this game on Youtube from a Let's Player. I wasn't sure how it would go due to the preliminary bugs but I was delightfully surprised when I saw that this new update had fixed any issues that I observed. However: The new update added so much!!! In the sense of context, it fixed how fast the storyline was progressing thanks to the time function versus however the game kept time before. I found the beers amusing and that it kept a good intriguing story once you actually look around the building and stuff. Hopefully it gets a little longer, or maybe some kind of arcade function-type play like FNoF. Either way, for the money and the updates as promised by the developer, and the low price, I give it a thumbs up and a 7/10. I don't do Indie Horror much, but some more small titles with promise like this would be nice and bring in a larger audience than the reptitive $8-10, same-style horror games out there.7 found this helpful
C'mon people, you spend more money on the appstores on your phones!
I've never done one of these so please bare with me.. With everyone in the world spending their money on things like Pokemon Go or ridiculous iPhone apps/games for $2-6, i can honestly say that this was worth it. It was shorter than i expected, but then i saw the announcement from the developers saying that they want to expand it further for free for anyone thats bought the game. That alone was enough to make up my mind. This game had a decent background story, and it fell right into the Halloween holiday slew because of it. What it lacked in length, it made up in hope. Essentially, it was worth the $4 for it all simply because of the graphics, surround sound, future expansion, terrifying monster, and theming. Let alone the fact that it says on another website that it will eventually have drop-in oculus rift support... With all of this considered, and knowing that this is such a small team working on this and fixing bugs so quickly, I'd be ashamed not to recommend it.6 found this helpful
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9WTjo01BZ0&t=786s I really like that scary game. recomend to everyone!3 found this helpful
I like the premise of the game and was interested in trying it out, but I had performance issues with the game, where my controls would suddenly stop working, and I would be frozen in place. Soon after, the screen just goes black and nothing happens, almost as if it froze. You hear the sounds and everything going on, but there is no picture. You can hit escape to try to get to the main menu or pause screen, but nothing happens. I would reboot the game and start again, and I would experience the same issue. I thought it would be fun to record an episode of this for my channel, but in its current state, the game has been unplayable. I'm hopeful the developers can make whatever fix is necessary. However, I can't at this point recommend the game until I can see it is at least working and playable.2 found this helpful
