For $5 it was an okay game. Took less than 3 hours to play, also crashed unexpectedly 3 times while playing. Puzzles are very easy, and there's not many hidden object puzzles in the game, and the ones in it are short and far too easy, as in find 5 objects, and they're in a small box, nothing to solve or fumble through. The story is also sub-par. Nothing really pulls you into the game. They could have done a lot more with it. But like I said, buying it for $5, was like sacrificing a cup of coffee for a few hours of dull puzzles for a Halloween week activity. Only worth buying if you consider all that I said worth your time and money. There's many other HOP games to enjoy out there.

This is a beautiful game. The art is high quality and the creepiness is in abundance. The interface is great, and the overall theme is very consistent throughout. The reason I'm not recommending this title is because it only lasted 2.2 hours and there was no bonus game. I look at it this way: If you pay $10 for a game that lasts 2 hours, that cost you $5 per hour. If you buy a good older RPG for $10 you might play 100 hours. That comes out to 10 cents per hour!! There is no reason these generally mediocre game are at such a premium.

Halloween all year round? Yes, please *.* Halloween Stories: Black Book is a short but surprisingly enjoyable hidden object adventure. It has a few technical hiccups. I experienced some loading issues and even one crash. Thankfully, I didn't lose any progress and was able to continue right where I left off after restarting the game. As someone who loves Halloween, I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. The environments are beautifully decorated with that perfect spooky vibe without becoming too scary. Despite its shorter length, the story is interesting, easy to follow, and kept me curious to see what would happen next. The puzzles are generally on the easier side, making this a relaxing experience. And if you ever get stuck, the game offers both hints and a skip option, so you'll never be frustrated for long. I honestly enjoyed it more than I expected. If you're a fan of hidden object games, cozy puzzles, and spooky Halloween vibes, this is definitely worth checking out ^^

This was one of my favorites from the Halloween Stories series so far! Good story, good mix of complicated/easy puzzles and the Halloween settings were gorgeous!

Fun hidden object game. Maybe not quite AM quality if you are familiar with them, but it is good enough for the price and might net you 2-3 hours. Recommended to enthusiasts, but if you are new to hidden object games try the highly rated Artifex Mundi game first.
