Happiness! Sakura Celebration!

Sugar? Check. Action? Check, but not too serious This VN is really good and enjoyable to read. Moreover the heroines are likeable and lovely. Their development in character and love is something very exciting to read.

Placeholder review: do not mind the low hours played. I'm reading this on a copy I bought on another site. I can say for now this is a fantastic read with very charming characters, good voice acting, and several smaller touches like sprite movement, visual effects, and panning cameras to make the experience feel more alive.

So this VN is technically part of a series but this is the only translated one. It does not need the previous work to be read properly, but you will see other places call it Happiness 2. It's not bad but it does feel like a bit of a disappointment. Rino is the only one with any semblance of a compelling romance, with Karen being alright too. The H scenes realllllyyyy detract from this story. Lots of incest too. Nao deserved a route, which the fan disk does get. If you're hoping the Grand ending redeems the story, it does not. If this story had any real themes or anything to it I'd give it a recommend. Overall tho unless you're a fan of aimless, meandering writing or banal moege like yuzu's more lackadaisical titles then there isn't much to enjoy here. It's mindless fun but I can't see why I would recommend anyone play it specifically.

Overall, it was a fun experience. The characters are fun written. The scenarios are fine.

Happiness Sakura Celebration is a very trophy story, we have childhood friends, lost memories, fiancé, brocon, femboy, idiotic male friend, harem, charming protagonist, etc. However, the writer utilizes these tropes extremely well, bringing a surprisingly enjoyable reading experience. The story’s theme is very consistent across different routes, despite having distinctive approaches, making each route a unique experience on its own. The grand route feels rather underwhelming compared to other heroines’ routes, but it was definitely a cohesive and conclusive curtain falls. All heroines are adorable, CGs are terrific, and one of the few VNs that I wholeheartedly enjoy H-scenes, those scenes are so vanilla and affectionate. Therefore, I hope you’ll install the patch to get the whole experience. Hopefully, NekoNyan will license other titles from Windmill Oasis like Witch’s Graden and Shukufuku no Campanella because I'm now fall in love with this developer.

Will (maybe) update this review after I'm done reading it. So far (my playtime is a bit higher than what it looks like. Offline playtime not counting is not fun) it's a lighthearted yet has some hints of things to come beyond just sappy and harem-y moments. The voice acting is very nice (As I'm going into this completely blind, I won't mention who is voicing one of the characters but it was a pleasant surprise and a similar flavor of character to one of NN's recent releases) with every character's personality coming through clearly, playing up the their tropes while keeping each character memorable. Transition between scenes are a bit choppy? Sudden cut to black? That's probably my only complaint so far. Recommending it for those who enjoy a light read with plenty of vanilla flavor yet with a bit more of depth behind just harem shenanigans (Seems to have more focus on romance than a bunch of the recently localized vns, so that's always a plus in my books)
