what is this
"Heart-S-Truck" is a student project from USC. One of the first things students should be taught in game development is that 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid 1990's with dedicated 3D cards like the Voodoo3 and the ATI Rage. But the students were deliberately mistaught that's it's okay to release obsolete 2D games in the 3D era of gaming... certainly any professional developer seeing a prospective new hire who doesn't even know about 3D gaming probably isn't going to give them a job. Needless to say if an educational institution taught me incorrectly on purpose, I'd ask for my money back. This time around the students made a laughably bad 2D side scrolling physics-truck platformer... you know the type, you need to balance between front and back wheels. This is the same or slightly worse than free Unity Asset Store game template packs designed for mobile phones. The students did add a "jumping" element so they could add platformer gameplay... regardless, there's zero ambition here, and the students delivered as if they had none, too. We also have to question what value there is for gamers on Steam when institutions flood the store with low quality 2D video game homewo…
Unfair and unfinished. I really want to complete this game, but Heart-S-Truck is just frustrating. This game focuses on balancing a package and bringing it to your destination. The problem is that it's barely possible with the game's physics and controls. Sometimes you don't have enough speed to go to the next area. It becomes very frustrating once you get stuck, as there isn't an easy way to move forward other than to try brute force. You can find charge stations after reaching certain checkpoints, but they only give you one charge per use.
