Cozy, simple, and none of that weird dungeoneering some games make you go through. The music is relaxing, and I appreciated the lack of count downs or timers. The only complaint I have (and this may be me being bad at games) is that the game is a bit *too* slow. Being forced to start over with brand new ingredients every day (until I saved several hundred coins to produce or retain 1 whole ingredient overnight) is a little frustrating, especially since 90% of the ones I receive appear to be perishable. I wish I could choose to purchase non-perishables, even if it was more difficult to utilise in return. I rate it 4/5! Definitely worth the money I paid, lovely little potion game.2 found this helpful
Ahoy! It be your local piratical reviewer! Comin' aboard with a short n' sweet review on Hearth's Light Potion Shop. A wee game 'bout brewin' potions. 've broken me thoughts down into Ayes and Nays in ye more common English for easier readin'. Ayes!

Hand drawn and simplistic yet charming graphical design. It goes very well with the laid back and cozy feeling i feel HLPS is trying to achieve
The brewing system it's pleasantly deceiving in complexity. You'll be managing flavours, ingredients that can both help and hinder you alongside side each type of potion demanding different things. The special requests in particular require a bit of forethought.
No pressure. You've got plenty of time to figure out a potion and there is relatively little consequence for failing a potion which once again feeds into that more laid back feeling.
Ere' Nor Thar

The upgrade system. I just don't like the idea the NPC's are also the place where you commission upgrades for your shop, I nearly always forget to click the icon to check what they have, I've had much preferred a central place to handle upgrades. Maybe a Book or a table somewhere in the shop…2 found this helpful

This had a lot of problems when I got it likely the day released. So, I set it aside. I just checked on it at from release, to last update was only 9 or 10 months. The game appears abandoned after a minor update January, 2024.
This game is simple. Its made well enough but it's not great.
You might get bored quickly. You can only move the camera, the character is stuck in one place. Took some time to get used to. Also after tutorial, it is necessary to reference a piece of text, which can be overwhelming. However throughout the game tips will keep poping up, guiding the player. For this price it's ok, but that's about it.
I do like this game, but it's not for everyone. Very simple, repetitive gameplay, but kinda interesting the way ingredients react to each other. More of a logic puzzle than "farming sim" alchemy. I'm looking forward to upgrade my shop, but it seems to be a slow process (at least for me). But for the price it definitely worth it :)
