About Hello Puppets! VR

In 1986, a fire destroyed the studio where “Mortimer’s Handeemen,” a failing children’s show starring hand puppets, was filmed. Eight people died, including the show’s creator. Ever since, rumors have swirled that the burnt-out shell of a warehouse was haunted. You play as a college reporter who broke in to see if the rumors were true. You’re about to get more than you bargained for.

“Hello Puppets!” is an immersive VR horror game with a twist: stuck on one of your hands is a sarcastic, foul-mouthed sentient puppet named Scout. Scout isn’t your usual companion character: she doesn’t like you and you don’t like her, but you’ll have to work together to escape the evil cast of “Mortimer’s Handeemen,” brought to life by a magical spell gone wrong. You’re on the run from psychotic puppets, and your only friend is a puppet who is, by her own account, “slightly less evil.”

Features:
- Unique horror-meets-comedy tone. Quirky characters and Scout’s foul-mouthed sarcasm will put a smile on your face, right before an evil puppet jumps out of the dark at you and turns it into a scream!
- Scout is more than a bland companion character, she’s alive, and you can interact with her using revolutionary mechanics only possible in VR. She remembers how you treat her, and reacts differently to situations based on what she thinks of you.
- Complex, challenging puzzles and pop out scares keep you on your toes. The game alternates between high-intensity scares and fun VR puzzles that will test your ability to work together with Scout.
- ”Puppet Mode” lets you transform into Scout and see the entire world from a radically different perspective. Use “Puppet Mode” to solve puzzles, escape enemies and learn secrets about the world of “Hello Puppets!”
- Rich lore hidden throughout the world, telling a horrifying and darkly comic story. “Hello Puppets!” is filled with secrets that will enrich and amplify the complex story of the game.
What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players praise the game's strong characters, engaging dialogue, and creative puzzle design that scales in difficulty, with particular appreciation for standout scenes and antagonist encounters. However, most feel the game is too short and underdeveloped for its potential, with complaints about limited character interaction affecting the story, bugs, and not enough meaningful antagonist encounters to create a more substantial experience.
This game has so so so so MUCH potential!!!! I watched gameplay of this 6 years ago and I just remembered it today, and bought it. I loved the characters my favorite obviously being Scout but there's one thing in this world that sucks.. and it's wasted potential!!! the worst part is the characters and dialouge are still amazing!!!! even till' this day! I really do wish this game was longer.. I wish your interactions with Scout affected narritive story descisions.. I really hope even if it's a long shot they revamp this game from the ground up! I want them to keep the foundation they have it still holds up great even in 2026!!! If the game was longer, more bugs we're fixed, and we got to actually meet more of the antagonists and fight them with scout by ur side it would've been awesome!!! and some story choices would determine the fate of both you and Scout! like multiple endings! I swear! you devs are sitting on gold still till' this day without realising it!!! (It sucks as much as I love this games story and characters I can't recommend it... it's way too short and the price is still asking for too much even till' this day.. please devs!! there's so much potential for greatness…2 found this helpful

THIS GAME IS SO SO SO GOOD the fandom is practically dead (it was already small in 2020-2022, like it could fit on a schoolbus, and now it's even more dead) i really like the puzzles, they're super easy but become harder over time. the tea party scene at the end is definitely my favorite part of the whole game in 2021 when i learned of this game my favorite was riley (still kinda is) but now that i'm older and i played it myself i really like nick nack. i'd love to play midnight show sometime and experience him and daisy firsthand!! rosco scared the hell out of me btw
Nothing much to say about it. A fun short game
