About Hero of the Hive
Take flight in this casual adventure game as a bee on a mission to save your crumbling hive. With the Queen mysteriously missing, it's up to you to gather resources like pollen and nectar to rebuild your home, explore the vast Aurora Basin, and embark on quests across the land to help the animals of nature as you become the hero your hive needs!
With the Queen missing, the hive is struggling to survive. There are few bees left to forage for the hive. Fly out into the vibrant world to collect all the staples a bee needs: pollen, nectar, and propolis. You may even find a few rare flowers along the way!
Help get the bees back on their wings! The hive is in desperate need of repair and you know just what they need. Reopen shops to customize your bee with vibrant colors or fun hats, rebuild rooms to attract more bees back to the basin, and even fix up a dance floor to show off your moves!
Bees hold ecosystems together! Animals across the entire basin rely on your assistance. From helping a lost fawn find its way home to resolving disputes between wildlife, you can help restore the balance of nature and make new friends along the way!

About an hour in I'm having fun. Once I got the hang of movement it felt very intuitive but you're dropped into the game without a tutorial or any on screen guidance so it felt like a very clunky start. I didn't talk to the first bee you're supposed to see because I didn't know how to lower myself yet so I just flew as far away from the hive as possible before trying to find a quest marker lol. I've completed two puzzles and two missions and the latter didn't feel fetch-questy which I appreciate. The sound effects are soothing (love speeding up and hearing the wind woosh), and it's pretty to look at - I honestly was expecting something a lot more crunchy to look at lol so I was pleasantly surprised. (Once I realised there was no tutorial or onscreen guideance and paused to look at it) the key mapping was clearly labelled. I also could turn off motion blur (woo! ..Does anyone like motion blur?), adjust mouse sensitivity which a lot of indie games neglect. I wish there was a HUD with waypoints or a compass, or even just a measure of how full your inventory is getting via a graphic like a bag filling up, but I'm still early game so maybe it's an upgrade I'll obtain. Hero of the Hive is a buzzworthy game I didn't know I needed. You play the world's cutest overachieving bee, zipping around biomes, collecting nectar, helping other furry neighbors, and trying to rescue the Queen. The art of adorable. the vibes are chill, and the whole thing is so relaxing you start to forget about your real-life to-do list (which, sadly, involves fewer flowers and zipping around meadows).1 found this helpful
This game is so fun and cozy! A lot of passion and dedication has been put into this game. I can't wait to get more customizations for my bee! Really great game.
Really enjoyed this game! Its the bees knees, the character designs feel unique and I enjoyed exploring the world, the music and quests were really enjoyable as well. If youre looking for a fun little indie game to spend a relaxing day playing, I recommend this one!
