About HighFleet
✦ AI summary
Command massive airships in tactical real-time combat where positioning and strategy trump reflexes, dueling enemy fleets across a mysterious desert world. Build and customize your perfect fleet while managing resources, navigating diplomacy, and unraveling the forgotten prophecies of a lost civilization in this unique dieselpunk strategy adventure.
In a world with no memory of its past. The House of Sayadi sends its thousand-ton military ships to the skies. Stirring the peace of nations inhabiting the earth they strive to bring back what they have lost.
As a commander of the Sayadi Task Force you’ve been sent to regain control of the rebellious Kingdom of Gerat by whatever means necessary. To succeed will require careful exploration, clever resource management, cautious diplomacy and building a fleet capable of ruling the skies unchallenged.

But maybe a much greater destiny awaits you in this journey. As this forsaken land still hides the mysterious prophecies of a long forgotten past.
At the heart of HighFleet is a unique form of combat in which giant ships bristling with weaponry duel above the desert. This is no mindless button mashing, however. Far from it. Battles are won by skilfully moving into positions that allow you to exploit your enemies' weak spots.

Mastering HighFleet requires much more than winning battles. You must explore the mysterious lands of Gerat. You must manage your ships, men, fuel and other resources. You must engage in diplomacy with the various factions. And then there’s the prophecy to be unravelled…

Thanks to HighFleet’s in-game ship editor, you can build the perfect fleet to suit your style of fighting. The many distinctive ship options and upgrade paths ensure the game will provide plenty of replay value.

The “dieselpunk” visual aesthetic, immersive music and sounds, and underlying mystery of HighFleet combine to create a truly unique and unforgettable atmosphere. This is a world you won’t want to leave until you’ve uncovered every secret and followed your destiny to the very end.

Edit: OMFG there is no way to manage inventory between fleets when sending out strike groups, fml. There are some workarounds that are pretty finicky, but the major problem is that you can't manage fuel if you use the workarounds. I cannot ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ believe that this has persisted without a fix for this many years. I really want to like this game but it is getting INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT. This is an absolute gem of a somewhat slim and undercooked game, but the lack of (Steam Workshop) mod support is so unfathomably idiotic that I don't know which is the bigger warcrime - that or nuking the city of Imgur. Everything about it screams "MOD ME DADDY", but Nexus for this game is as barren as the desert beneath your airships. Hara Vera serves as the exception here, looking to be a pretty fleshed out conversion mod, but that's about it. The combat is heavy and punchy, the strategic map can be mathematically complex and rewarding, but it feels REALLY light when it comes to ship and weapon variety. Basically, the negative aspects I see here could be improved by more accessible mod support. I just don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ understand why some devs fail to take their game from good to legendary by j…2 found this helpful
Good game, but twice in a row I've had a ship just disappear after docking and the main force arriving in same port. Considering you pretty much need to split and join fleets constantly, this is bordering on unplayable - you send the most capable and experienced ship to solo a garrison, take minimal damage, land, then poof - it's just gone. Combined with lack of manual saves this could be campaign-ruining.1 found this helpful
Replayable and the ships are customizable. There is a thrill as you command a fleet as you inch towards your goal. The heart beating adrenaline as you hear these words: *RADAR EMISSION DETECTED* *THERMAL SIGNATURE DETECTED* *VISUAL CONTACT* Only to realize that the cruise missile is carrying a nuclear payload. Story is acceptable albeit abruptly cut, but as I said, replayable as heck. 9/10 buy even if not on sale.
Too many bugs, a shallow story, and an unfinished game—all at a premium price.
There's jank to this game and it isn't for everybody, but once you get your head around what this game IS, you discover the execution of the mechanics of it are done masterfully. It's dots on a map, cat and mouse, decipher intel, tactical placement naval warfare in a post apocalyptic diesel-punk world that rewards the players knowledge of it's systems. If that sounds appealing, this is probably for you. The learning curve is steeper than your average game but what keeps me coming back is that it's very rewarding to execute a missile strike or a recon mission or pinpointing a strike group of enemy ships. Sending out custom made early warning ships that listen for enemy activity and deciphering intel and finding out when a supply ship will be arriving at a location so I can ambush it half way is my jam. The game is really how smart and tactical you are as a commanding officer and how well you use the tools at your disposal. For me, the weakest part of it is the combat and even then, it's still pretty good and meaty with very satisfying feedback. Can I just say as well, that I'm not here for the combat - I'm here for the tactics and feeling of a well thought out missile strike. …
It takes a bit to get the controls of the game, but its really unique and fun once you get it. I love the art work, sounds, and story....very cool.
