I used to play gemcraft as a kid and it was one of my favorite games. I looked it up on steam and at first thought "wow 10 bucks??" but holy moly, only 5 hours in, and its so worth it! this is so well made and a blast!!!
you make your game too beautiful ;-;
Oldie goodie. 9/10.
It's a pretty good game.
I really enjoyed this game and had lots of fun playing it. You're free to make it as difficult as you'd like, and as you can see by the hours I put into it - there's lots of content. I'm not even near completed, but at this point two things are making me move away from it: a) once you've unlocked all the gems, the different levels start looking too much alike and b) the levels at this difficulty level really start taking way too long. That said, I don't regret playing this at all, and I'd definitely recommend it to all defense tower lovers.
I love (and occasionally hate) this game. It goes on forever. Gems can be combined, amplified, used as bombs to destroy structures or enemies. You can build incredibly intricate paths. You build up a supply of points to assign to increase the effectiveness of the various gems and boosts and effects (and you can customize those assignments with each map for best effect). There are some grindy points where you need to return to earlier maps for better scores before you can conquer newly-discovered maps. I'm okay with that. At every step I felt like progress was being made (except when I got too greedy with boosting the difficult of an early map to get a better score; greedy doesn't work in this game). I've thrown a lot of hours at this game and I'm nowhere near done. Disclaimer: although Steam says I've put in 1000+ hours, over the years I've restarted several times, so I've got maybe 200 hours in this run. And, if you like it, there are several other games in the series. And the earlier games are being updated and collected, so that'll keep you busy.
