Hocus Focus

Foreword: Hocus Focus is a sweet little gem similar to Ithya Magic Studies but with a Transylvanian twist. Aesthetics: This tool's character is a mage who travels and studies in different environments, “hunting” little creatures called mitzkins and collecting potion ingredients. The storytelling is visual, and the cartoon art is beautiful in my eyes. The sound effects are adequate, and the music is good, even if the playlist is a bit shorter when compared to other such tools like Spirit City. Functionality: It has all the expected features of such a productivity tool: pomodoro timer, journal, tasks, habits etc. The best way to increase exp is to create many habits and then check-mark them, then go further backwards in the habit calendar and check-mark them all. I got to level 50 very fast by doing this. The time of day and weather affect the mitzkins you can find hidden in the beautiful maps and ingredients. If you are lost buy the guide book for mitzkins; it contains important hints to finding all of them, especially the elusive flame mitzkin. Enjoyment: I enjoyed the tool/game a lot. I got this game to replace another I was using for purposes the same purposes. It can use some UI upgrades, like the journal doesn't scroll when you hit the bottom of that text space, but it's still a decent choice

I love this game so much. I already had a focus game but that wasn't really working, my pc kept shutting off :D There is no such problem with this one and it such a lovely and cozy experience working with it. It does not have a tons of features, but there is a reward system where you can find some magical creatures or herbs if you progress with your tasks and habits. The art style is beautiful and the music as well. I really like to have it on while doing some house work, it really keeps me motivated. I started with this one before near mage but the bonus is, when I feel like I would like to explore more of this world I can just go to near mage and play the story :) I can absolutely recommend this game

I really love the studio Stuck in Attic so much and I instantly bought this game to support them! i played it for around two hours and realised that my most favourite sounds, rain and fire, have a high pitched noise with them. Since I have misophonia my brain focuses on the high pitched noise that comes with the rain and fire cracking sounds and it keeps distracting me. I unfortunately can't relax with that sound in the background. If this gets fixed, I will be able to play this game again but until then: enjoy me buying the game as a donation. (: I love the art style and the customization options! And I would've loved to explore Rakus more!

very very slow progression, level up get 100 gold. some of the items price (for customization) are 250 and 500. and take hours to level up. you can only buy 1 or 2 piece of cheap items for every level. dev want us to spend 1000s hours in this game. music playlist very good and high quality. scenes are okay. only 7 ambient sound (2 of them just noise). verdict : 5/10 until dev fix progression speed.
