Focus Grove

Note: Don't mistake my playtime as time actually spent in game, I've just kept it running all day so it's up if I need it. My actual playtime is a lot less, although I can't give a number. I've now played through what I consider the full amount of content as far as it relates to me. This is a good game, no doubt about it - the process from beginning to full unlock is going to keep you busy foir a while - not my full playtime while - but quite a while. The animals are cute and the progression overall makes sense. During this time it remains a good tool for focuing, absolutely. Eventually though, it does run into the same problem that practically every pomodoro-game does (the only exception I know is the legend of pomodoro) in that you've unlocked everything that is available, or pretty much everything, and now this functions as a glorified timer. For some people they may be able to keep playing past this point and get use of it - for me though, once meaningful interaction ceases it can't do the stuff for me in the same way anymore. It's well-made and helpful. Because my brain likes novelty I tend to cycle through a couple different productivity games/apps, and this is definitely a really polished one. It's helped me through a lot of grad school work these past few weeks.

I've absolutely fallen in love with Focus Grove. What started as a promising demo has grown into something that feels genuinely special. The ambient sounds are fantastic. I almost always choose the cat purring because it's incredibly calming and helps me settle into whatever I'm working on. Combined with the Pomodoro timer, task tracker, and habit tools, it makes staying focused feel much less like a chore. What impressed me most is how much has been added since the demo. There are so many extra features, rewards, customisation options, and adorable Woodlings to discover. Watching your little forest grow as you complete real-life tasks is surprisingly motivating, and it gives you a nice sense of progress without adding any pressure. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, whether you're studying, working, creating content, or just trying to stay organised. It's cosy, relaxing, and encourages healthy productivity instead of making you feel guilty for taking breaks. If you're looking for a focus app that's both practical and genuinely enjoyable to use, I can't recommend Focus Grove enough. It's become one of my favourite productivity companions.

Y'all. Y'ALL. Get this. I absolutely adore this little focus friend. It's like it was custom-made to help me. If you love Finch, you'll love this too. I set it up on my second screen and maximize the size to take in all the pleasant goodness. I'm AuDHD and a remote gig worker. The motivation to take the first step of something is HARD. I can focus once I'm AT the computer, but getting my butt TO the computer often feels impossible. It doesn't anymore, because I love watching my cute little woodlings putter around being adorable! I am VERY INVESTED in actually going to my computer because I want to buy cute things for my animal friends. It works on a pomodoro timer (your woodlings do gardening while you do work, and gardening gets you money to upgrade your garden and create a nicer space for the woodlings to live), but if you don't do well with timers, you'll be fine. The time for work and break is customized, you can pause/skip, or you can do what I do, which is just let it run throughout your work day even if your work/break times don't line up.
