About Hoshizora no Memoria -Wish upon a Shooting Star- HD

Meet Kogasaka You and his little sister, Chinami, both of whom after the sudden death of their mother, are set to leave the city to go back to their childhood hometown to live with their aunt, Shino. Initially leaving their hometown of Hibarigasaki was difficult for You, as he was close friends with a girl who he saw nearly every day after school at the local town lookout. When she discovered that You would be leaving the town, she made him promise to return to marry her and left him with simply a kiss on the forehead to remember her by.

Once You returns to his hometown, he searches for that childhood friend, only to find his previous meet-up location is now fenced-off and abandoned. While out searching, he instead stumbles on a mysterious girl named Mare who carries a scythe and claims to be a Grim Reaper. Now back in his hometown, You starts to rebuild his life, making friends and continuing his search for the girl he made a promise to. Will he eventually find his promised love? Who is this mysterious girl and why does she seem so familiar?
  • Follow the story of Kogasaka You and choose his path as he discovers love with either of the 7 beautiful girls that comes to aid him on his journey.
  • Full Japanese voice cast except for the main character.
  • Seven different endings

Chinami is the only reason why I can't recommend this VN to other people, but if you can ignore that one simple flaw it is a good read

I can recommend to VN fans willing to put up VN contrivances and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for a slightly better than average experience, but frankly, recommending this to an average person is basically a no go. The writing is at best a thematic mess. There is no big throughline to the story and all the routes, it is pointlessly confusing and faux-scientific, and incest and loli abound. All the talk of stars is basically just thematic dressing and a set piece to make the story seem more competent than it is. Still, it isn't a BAD experience at all if you can look past all that... It's just not a particularly great one. To be honest, I think a lot of the issue I had with story is that the common route flowed so naturally into Komomo's route that I had no idea I was in her route until 70% of the way through, and nothing else lived up to that. Once Komomo's was over, I was expecting the other routes to be on the same level of competence... which is not at all the case, unfortunately. Kosame's is the only one that kinda rivals it besides the True End, and even then it's lacking. I think my biggest grievance in this is that there is an alternative ending to the True End, and the work is so much worse…

Complete this game in 10 days, absolutely love it. This Visual Novel is the epitome of Moege and all of its tropes, here we have osananajimi, Imouto, Tsundere, and even loli(lol). At the end of the day, I still can not choose whether I love Yume or Mare more, that being said, other heroines like Kosame, Komomo, and Asuha are also real bangers. Will continue with eternal heart right now

Fantastic VN, very fun and rather deep and interesting plot. Overall great routes, amazing true route. Can't recommend enough!

A very slow burn nakige. Hoshimemo doesn't do anything particularly interesting or special, but it delivers a rather nice conclusion after a signficant amount of time reading. There are some routes that are good, some are bad, and one is amazing. Regardless, Hoshimemo is something I would recommend to someone looking for a more laid-back game to read while still requiring an emotional conclusion. The art direction is wonderful, with plenty of colorful backgrounds and bright CGs.

Visual novels offer a unique blend of storytelling and style, separate from typical games. Even so, the titles I review shine on their own, delivering memorable experiences for specific people!
