I hate to leave a bad review for an indie devs first game but this is not scary or fun to play. the house model asset has been used in a few other horror games that i already knew the whole house the second i started the game. the character stops chasing you if you run up 1 step. and he isnt scary. when you hide under the dining room table, you can still see your character standing right in front of you. just not good. my RTX4090 Graphics card overheats and throttles for some reason which means poor optimization. best of luck to the dev though, dont give up!17 found this helpful
I'm kind of torn on this one. I really appreciate that they are going for something a bit more unique than a lot of games. I think they did a lot right. Being a young lady was the right choice for the protagonist, and I did feel myself being anxious and stressed...in a good way. I found the gameplay fun, and would play it again if they expanded the game. What I didn't like was mainly the length. From the description, I was under the impression it would be longer with more than one home invasion scenario. And that "Atmospheric House" is so freaking overused. The burglar AI could be better and I'm not sure if I just missed them, but I would like a couple more hiding places, especially in the basement. And One thing that drives me crazy in a lot of games, including this one, is keys, cards, other items, in the most random of places nobody would ever think to look. I get it that that is pretty much a staple of horror games that you have to look everywhere, but I think there should be some rhyme or reason, or a clue as to where items you are looking for could be. One more thing, and it's both a pro and a con, was the typical pictures you see in every other horror game. They were in thi…5 found this helpful
This game attempts to bring a fresh perspective to the home invasion horror genre by casting you in the role of a young woman navigating a familiar, atmospheric house. The anxiety and tension do manage to surface at times, and the premise had solid potential, especially for a debut indie project. There are glimpses of creativity here, like the inclusion of notes that provide context for typical genre imagery, which shows some thoughtfulness in the design. However, there are several issues that undermine the experience. The biggest is the heavy reliance on a house model and asset pack that's instantly recognizable from other indie horror titles. This can break immersion for anyone who’s played similar games before, since you might already know the layout from the start. The AI for the antagonist is quite weak—simple actions like stepping onto a stair cause the enemy to lose interest, which kills any ongoing suspense. Hiding mechanics feel unfinished; hiding under the dining room table still leaves your character fully visible, which removes any sense of safety or realism. Exploration often devolves into searching for keys or other items stashed in illogical, random places. Whi…
