I Won't Forget Hue

The puzzle mechanics are really, really fun and interesting, hindered somewhat by the chase bits, as your character can't run or sprint. Also, since I was running away from the monsters, I only got one extra piece of the painting (and felt like I couldn't take my time and look around to enjoy the details of the different lens colors), which meant the ending largely made no sense at all to me; I feel like those should have been mandatory. What little I did get of the story seemed pretty interesting, though! While I'm usually a big baby about horror games, I found this one a reasonably a bit scary but not terrifying; after the monster catches you the first time and you realize it just fades to black it's not so bad. This is a pretty great concept, but I would consider this a demo more than a full game, and I'm giving it a thumbs up AS a free demo and not a fully fleshed-out product. I can't complain about the price vs the time spent on it as it's free to play, but it took me only 20 minutes to finish a single run. I'd be really interested to see what Hostile Kiwi Games could do with a little time & budget to flesh this out into a longer experience!

Short and sweet. The atmosphere is spooky and I really like the mechanic of the coloured lenses revealing different things. Horror games are hit or miss for me because I'm a wimp, and this one was definitely a hit!

A fun shorter little game that does some clever mechanics with colors and also perspective to put together a rather touching little story. I would definitely say to play it tbh.

"I Won't Forget Hue" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The students made a 2D first person horror adventure game (usually the purview of asset flippers, but this one is at least not an asset flip), and of course students always get to do something a bit new, so there's a "coloured glasses" phasing/view mechanism similar to what we got to enjoy in 2000's Alien vs Predator when you were running arou…

Found this looking for Hue, this caught my eye and its a fun game, would recommend.
