About Ignite
Every race is different in Ignite. Each race brings something new as players try to win by using their own tactics.
The score system in Ignite allows for tactics to be used during a race. Gathering score allows the use of nitro in the race and converts to time bonus at the end. So short term usage of nitro can help the players get out of situations ahead of the others but using a lot of nitro and thus score may cost him the game. There are different methods of gathering score (drafting, hitting objects, drifting) and some cars are more suited for a method then the other. Choosing the right car for the preferred method and playing out your strategy will make the player win the game.
3 different types of racing cars: The American muscle, the street and the race cars all have a certain feel which requires different driving technique. Various configuration for each car: All vehicles have different settings which makes them suitable for different races or driving styles. 30 Achievements: A full achievement system to award stunts and special skills and also to teach some of the techniques in the game. Leaderboard: A worldwide leaderboard for each racetrack. Car damage: cars get damaged which does not influence the handling. Random atmospheres: From sunshiny, to fogy the same racetrack may have a very different feel in two races.
Edgy racer that tries to be another NFS. Game have more arcade feeling. You get points for drifting and wreaking havoc but unlike Flatout vehicles don't get obliterated, there's no car destruction whatsoever. Smashing into track boundaries will decrease points. So basically score high and get high. Controls are ok, not terrible but there's no controller support. Tracks are somewhat mediocre. Visuals up to 1080p. Music is ok. Overall very mediocre racing game. PS: Run in compatibility mode with Win XP
13 found this helpful

Picked this up on sale and had a decent couple of hours with it before the cracks started showing. The core idea is genuinely fun, building score by drifting and plowing through barricades then deciding whether to burn it as nitro or bank it for a time bonus at the finish line, it makes races feel scrappy and alive for a while. But the rubber-band AI completely kills the tension once you figure out that racking up a big score causes the CPU cars to get superhuman top speeds, so the game basically punishes you for playing well. The seven tracks start blending together fast, everything is grey concrete and industrial scenery with no real variety, and the campaign is over in about three to four hours. Multiplayer has been dead for years so once you finish the campaign there is not much reason to come back. Fun for a short afternoon if you grab it at a steep discount, but there are better budget racers out there.1 found this helpful
Haven't played this in a while, but still have fond memories of it. If you're on a lower end system and looking for a fairly easy game to just pick up and drive a race car on various tracks, this will work nicely for that.1 found this helpful
Broken game. Stay away. Glitches in physics. Your and AI oponent's car sometimes stutters and is catapulted into air or blink 50m ahead. AI oponents seem to cheat like crazy. Weirdly crashing full speed into another car sometimes boosts your speed etc.
