First off, the game has the Woke parasite: not even an hour in and I'm talking to an aviator frog, voiced by a man, who apparently has a husband in a game that seems catered towards early teens. Why is that crap in a kid's game? Why in general? There's literally no reason to have that comment, other than some weird backstory, and no other character talks about their spouse throughout the 20hrs of play. The irony isn't lost on me after Alex Jones', 'They're turning the frogs gay' comment, which is funny and sad at the same time. Tutorials are hit-or-miss if you aren't the type that checks every tab or setting before playing the game, since the tutorial/questing is hidden behind the menu tab, instead of being on the HUD; it may take you a good long minute to figure out what you are even supposed to do. The game in general isn't bad per-se: build your home, farm materials, progress quests until you finish the story like any other cozy game, with some bare minimum combat. Steamdeck LCD performance is averaging 20ish FPS at standard settings, but once lowered to the lowest graphical fidelity, then it pushes 40s; the game's HUD is also kind of small, so I pushed the brightness up - …4 found this helpful
bought this game years back when i first joined Steam. played it for 8 hours straight and i LOVED it! the milestone to open one area was so engaging i became obsessed in opening the next areas. tried to fing the required things to progress was so fun while exploring new areas. cute graphic, cute concept! graphic's nice, but felt like there's this "foggy-ness" that i thought kinda masking/covering it's beautiful color pallete. i don't know if that's intentional, but it feels like i'm using old tv instead of high definition smart HDTV (or what they called high tech tv in this modern days).. if you know what i mean. but, yes, i'm recommending this game! especially if you play it with friends.. played for 4 hours straight and wouldn't even stop if not because of bugs (monsters couldn't be attacked, shrines couldn't be offered item asked).2 found this helpful
Its a fun cozy game. But there are some few bugs here and there where your game completely gets stuck/frozen. Task manager and forcing the game to shut down was the only way to exit. But the biggest con of all in this game is the online co-op. The achievements only counts for the host! Zero progress for guest players!1 found this helpful
A fantastic, wholesome, delightful and beautiful game which has enough challenge for the battling and a zillion fun things to work towards. Great companions, outstanding outwork, cute music, good overarching quest to repair the island. It's the perfect antidote to the stress of day to day, perfect!
There is a bug where co-op player (me) gets reverted to day one progression after joining the second time. So its always raining and you get all the tutorials again. Seeing as someone else mentioned it and was replied to by the devs 2 years ago, makes it seem like it wont get fixed. I had a lot of fun with the game when I was playing it though! Love that you can take control of the animals and stuff.
I wish we could use a percentage rating instead of a binary choice. The game looks nice, and there are plenty of decorations to play with, if you're into that kind of thing (I am). I like the helper pet system (although it can be a bit finicky - I highly recommend merging with the fox before digging because your command doesn't always register) It's not totally hopeless, but I can't in good conscience recommend it. This game has one of the worst, least responsive, and least accurate combat systems I have ever seen. Combine that with weapon durability, and you've hit the perfect jackpot for frustration. Watering the plants is also inaccurate. You have to stand in a very specific spot to water 4 lots, and the lots to be watered are not highlighted, so you may end up watering 1, 2, or (the worst) 3, then have to come back with a new watering action for that last straggler. In addition to that, I was unable to complete one of the achievements because it bugged on me. Oh well.
