awesome
can't stop playing

several different playable characters from 3 archetypes
tons of deckbuilding options on top of that with cards, talents, runes...
personally, I'm a huge fan of the simple graphics
Story mode progresses reeeally slow; the way stories are told is quite cumbersome... but it's still good. 9/10

If you like Roguelite card games, this can get a little repetitive, but it's fun. Plenty to chase after. Good for fun, but it's not going to be winning any awards. I probably have ~300 hours between Steam and my cell. It's also on the Android play store play pass.

Here's a fun fact, I played this game after playing Slay the Spire, in many ways I did find this game is more beginner friendly in a sense that personally for me it was rather easy to get it, now let me tell you my favorite thing about this game that being you can make parties of heroes like you don't just stick to one hero, but you add more along the way to help you fight better against whatever your facing against. This is something I like as it forces you to think what would go well with your current setup and the rest you can imagine. One thing I didn't like about the game is that some of the boss fights to me personally at times felt brutally unfair in such a way that I had no chances to win, but this feeling only came a few times so I don't necessary mind it.

I have very fond memories of this game and think it is impressive and good. BUT there are some design issues which make me not want to play it. But I do think it feels sincere which I really appreciate and that's precious and deserves appreciation. The issue is that it's not streamlined enough and has some stuff that overstays its welcome. I hope the artists and developers make a new game with some dull stuff cut out since they're clearly very smart and talented and just need a bit of tinkering to make a truly awesome, wonderful game.

I wish Steam permitted a Neutral Review as I would absolutely suggest this game... but only to a very specific person. Indie's Lies has a lot of great things to enjoy, but its all wrapped up in bad. The core gameplay and deckbuilding is incredible. The ability to replace cards instead of having the binary add or remove adds such a novel dynamic to deckbuilding. Rune cards that are added to your deck but can then be later consumed to modify cards in different ways adds insane customization potential. The number of characters and the different classes feel unique and fresh, and the mechanic of creating a party as a run progresses that can assist in a strategy that develops mid run is super compelling and makes for tons of replay potential. Everything at the foundational level of the gameplay works well and if you are craving a deck builder than this could fill that craving. Unfortunately, almost every other element hampers the core game instead of enhancing. The games difficulty balance seems poor. Normal difficulty is too easy, and Hard difficulty can end what had been a great run in a single combat. I appreciate the attempt to create more of a narrative and lore than some oth…

Some achievements don't work. Issue has been repeatedly raised in Steam Discussions going back 6+ months. Dev response is just to cite what action is supposed to unlock the achievement (but doesn't) and take no further action.
