everybody dead, whodunnit? not only is this a question regarding the story of inexplicable deaths in damipolis, but it also applies to the game itself. everything is pretty much broken, and I guess people mentioned in the credits dunnit. they had one whole tester, which explains a lot, and I'm sure kickstarter backers are ecstatic about the result. the gist is, 12 guests die at a mansion, you're one of them and somehow come back to life(ish) to figure out what happened and why, made all the more difficult by the fact that you can't remember anything. and the game being broken, but that shouldn't be part of the deal. guests are all represented by dummies (or maybe in this world dummies are people), and they're annoyingly referred to as dumans. the only way to escape is by finding four totems, one of your own self, plus a bunch of tarot cards, then decide which cards to assign to which totem, followed by placing the totems where you think they should be placed and opening a chest for some reason. there are 6 chapters to go through and reach one of multiple endings based on decisions. there have been 4 patches since release in mid-december, supposedly fixing al…14 found this helpful
You know, I always like to make my reviews professional-looking, writing a whole paragraph as the introduction to the rest of the review. But for this game, I will get straight to the point, as I have no idea how to do that for this particular game. The game shows it's clearly not up to a PC game's standards right at the beginning. The first menu you see after firing the game up, is the language selection. Now at first, it seems simple: Just choose a language you're comfortable with and play, right? WRONG. The game actually refused to show me keyboard controls and asked me to press the X button to proceed. I tried every button that's usually used for confirming things: enter, space bar, shift, the X button itself, left mouse button, right mouse button... but none worked. Therefore, I had to force quit the game through Steam Overlay, plug my controller in and start the game again. I chose English as my preferred language and... then I wondered why the hell everything is suddenly in Spanish. This leads us to the next standard thing the game does wrong: There is no main menu. The moment you start the game from the title screen, you will get thrown into the gameplay. So you cannot ch…14 found this helpful
Should not have been released in its current state, or at the very least it should be marked Early Access. I'm not sure if it's playable on Windows - my items don't show up in the inventory, but that might be because I use Linux with Proton. In any case, the English translation is incomplete, item descriptions are missing, "placeholder" texts appear... See the screenshots I shared. It looks like it has potential, but right now it's a mess.9 found this helpful
This game is in an unplayable, buggy state. It is my opinion that this game should not have been released in the state that it's in. Some bugs that you'll encounter: -Does not appear to recognize controllers -Both English and Espanol language options are labeled "Espanol." -"Notes" menu completely non-functional. -Many inventory items are labeled "Placeholder" when trying to view. -Getting trapped in menus is a common occurrence, causing user to have to force-shutdown game. -Inventory items randomly disappear. -Shaders (reflections of rainfall) appear in places where the effects wouldn't be visible (rooms without windows) -Objects that are interacted with but not picked up (there is a "discard" option) disappear from the screen, can only be picked up again by remembering where they used to be and clicking on that spot. -Some hotspots appear to be interactable (the reticle responds to them) but clicking them yields no results. The UI and menu system is also non-standard, under-explained, and very abstruse. To access the menu, you press "M" on the keyboard, then navigate with the arrow keys and select options by clicking the mouse buttons. Once you get into the menu, the instructio…2 found this helpful
The game looks absolutely beautiful and has lots of potential but, at the time this review is being written, is so bugged that is unplayable. Every few weeks I try to play it again, and every time the game either crashes or the inputs stop working. There are tons of placeholders and missing texts and everything just feels half done. I will gladly change this review once I´m able to go a single playthrough without encountering a game crippling bug, but I feel right now it´s just too broken to recommend it to anyone.1 found this helpful
