About Into the Evernight

Into the Evernight is a retro-styled, tactical role-playing game with a heavy emphasis on player choice and branching story paths.
  • Turn-based, tactical combat.
Engage enemies in tactical, RPG-style combat as you try to stop the spreading darkness.
  • Branching story paths.
The choices you make and actions you take will lead the storyline down very different routes.
  • Evolving game difficulty.
Into the Evernight's difficulty is not set by a slider in options, but rather by your in-game choices. An easier path forward always exists, but at what cost...?
  • Upgradeable skills and items.
Customize your squad with over 60 upgradeable skills. Wield weapons and armor that gain in strength not only as they are reinforced, but also as your characters become accustomed to them.
  • Multiple endings.
How will you stop the spreading darkness? Or will you even be able to? Into the Evernight's ending will entirely depend upon the choices and sacrifices you make along the way.
The sun went out long ago, leaving only darkness. And with the darkness, came the shades. Fragments of those that lived before, trapped with nowhere to go.Humanity huddles together in bustling cities that interrupt the eternal night. They are safe there, beneath the light of the wardstones. But this age is ending. Few see the signs, but the wardstones are starting to fade. The safety of the wardstones will not last much longer. Is there a solution, hidden somewhere in the Evernight? No one is brave enough or foolish enough to venture out there. No one except you.

I have been glued to this game since starting it last week (almost 30 hours in one week which is a lot for me). I can't decide if the battle system or the storyline is more addicting but both are incredible. While I don't prefer tactical RPGs à la Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics, Into the Evernight reminds me more of a 2D version of Eternal Sonata with a smaller crew and dynamic battle "map". The skills system is also well thought out. Something different for me is the replay value. Into the Evernight emphasizes choices and in both the storyline and skills. You cannot accomplish a fraction of what is available on just one playthrough so I am looking forward to picking up again once I beat this story. I did end up stuck at one point once I realized grinding was unavailable after some poor skill system choices and ended up restarting. It was worth it and I would not let a few hours of learning with a restart deter you from playing. If you are a lover of great gameplay, great storylines, and retro games, give Into the Evernight a try. You won't regret it.

Unironically one of the best games I've ever played. I hope there will be an "Into the Evernight 2" or something like that in the future. :)

I'm only ten hours in, but this game is amazing: it has all that an RPG should have. 1. Gameplay Depth (many customization systems between skills, equipment and level-ups) 2. A branching story with choices that actually matter and affect the timeline (on the line of "sacrifice your best friend to get a chance to escape, or try to escape with them") 3. Human dialogues with characters that are true to themselves This should cost $10-15 . If you're in doubt about it, please try it and leave a positive review to help the amazing devs build a reputation. they really deserve it.

This game is awesome, and by a single person its monumental. I've nothing negative to say in fact, I can't recommend this game enough to crpg fans. 10/10. One of the best games I've played, period. That's an understatement To Basoosh, Thank you for making such a great game and sharing it. It was compelling and I loved the characters and story. It was also challenging, and I loved playing without a guide. Brought me back to my favorite games, but felt like less of a baby because it wasn't easy depending on the choices you make. <3 Bandit and Mr. Tibbs
