Iron Grip: Warlord invigorates tower defense with first-person shooter elements to give a new twist to the genre.
It puts you in the heat of the battle, fighting off hordes of AI-controlled invaders. Play alone or with friends, in a diverse and challenging struggle to save all of Atelia.
Iron Grip: Warlord is set in an alternate universe where you take on the role of an Atelian Warlord. Gain power by killing the enemy or gathering valuables. FPS and RTS hybrid. Its not bad, its definately dated and its hard to make the turrets not blow up all the time. I had fun though. No story mode, there is a single player mode2 found this helpful
Iron Grip: Warlord is a surprisingly fun blend of FPS, tower defense, and light RTS that doesn't get nearly enough credit — running around gunning down waves of conscripts and officers while dropping turrets and traps in RTS mode creates a genuinely hectic and satisfying loop. The steampunk-ish aesthetic and propaganda radio add a ton of charm, and when you get a few friends together for co-op, it becomes an absolute riot. That said, the multiplayer is essentially dead at this point, which is a real shame because the game clearly shines brightest with human teammates — solo play on anything above easy difficulty gets brutal fast since the bot AI mostly ignores the strategy side of things. If you can rope some friends into buying it and enjoy the FPS/tower-defense hybrid concept, it's worth picking up on sale; just don't expect a polished modern experience.1 found this helpful
I feel like this game already felt dated when it was new. It's a multiplayer game that nobody plays.
I forgot when I precisely bought/received this game but it's great, it's a shame it got delisted...
playable on steam deck
I really enjoyed playing this game with friends and watching hordes of troops and tanks come at us.
