It is a really fun action Mech TD game with the option to co-op.1 found this helpful
I've been a fan of this game since first discovering it on Xbox ages ago. I've always considered myself a fan of tower defense games and this hybrid genre also satiates the FPS/3PS cravings, to an extent. I love the styling, the story is great, unlocking parts and building out your "Trench" (mech), there's a good variety of weapons (some with fun and interesting special traits), a good variety of enemies, good mix of towers. I only played solo and everything is completable (except 5 achievements). I can't speak to the state of multiplayer, but I know that if it was still operational when I last played then there was nobody public. This is one of those games that made me want much more. I know this genre gets bursts of technically similar games, but I wish there were a lot more as good as this and Sanctum 1&2.
"Iron Brigade" is from 2012 in all the best ways. It's goofy and campy in pretty much every way it can think of, and takes it gameplay mechanics very seriously. Some of the balance choices directly related to the player seem a touch odd - I'm not sure why only Engineering Trenches have access to heavy turrets, for instance, but you can get all the way through the main campaign without them. I also really like the ability to replay previous missions for the same overall rewards. It's a great way to make progress, stock up on money, and test different loadouts. It's a fun little diversion of a game, and I can appreciate that.
Played this game when i was younger about 10 years old and now ive played it and beat it 8 years later at 18
A fun niche game, can't say I've enjoyed many games this year. This one is for sure one of the fun ones, especially with some friends.
Fabulous game especially if you can get a couple of friends to join you!
