About IT WATCHES

Trapped inside a compact experimental facility, your role is simple and unsettling. Observe each floor. Decide whether an anomaly is present. Choose correctly, and you may proceed.Inside the elevator, two buttons await your decision. Progress through the floors by consistently making correct judgments. As you advance, anomalies become harder to distinguish and more deceptive. Reach the final floor to uncover the outcome of the experiment. Whether you succeed depends entirely on how well you observe.
  • Observe compact, claustrophobic rooms designed to test perception
  • Decide whether an anomaly is present on each floor
  • Make your choice inside the elevator
  • Correct decisions allow you to progress
  • Incorrect decisions reset your progress
  • No time limits. Study the room for as long as you need

I was excited to try this game as it looked spooky. The description seemed easy enough, yes or no, are you correct? Let me tell ya.. I was 35 minutes in, giving this some time and grace for SOMETHING to appear, make noise, anything. First "anomaly" was what looked like a sticker... at that point I felt like I just wasted $5 and 35 minutes of my life. But, I kept pushing on, again, giving this some hope that Im not wasting my time. I got reset many times. There were literally NO things that did changed or happened (non that were noticeable, and I STUDIED these rooms). When I said "no anomaly", it then reset me. So there was one? There were a couple jump scares that did get me, but that happened at the 1 hour mark.... with a loud noise and just a face in the window. So of course im going to jump, after an hour of nothing happening. The simplicity is.... simple. I wish that the rooms were not exactly the same every floor. And the "anomalies" were actual... scary like things. Not a stained shadow on the wall with no movement, a cheesy sticker, the window bars changing angel? I mean you kinda get what you pay for, but as a streamer (who streamed this live), there is no content to show o…

Do you like cheap popping in and out jumpscares, random noises with no real source out of no where, and making sure you walk everywhere so you activate those noises which count as anomalies? I sure don't. Does it have some subtle ones? Sure. But most of them encountered in my playtime were just the aforementioned jumpscares. If a scare can come in and out of existence, there's no reason why I should be hesitant to enter a space when it can just as easily occur to me standing still. There's no dread, just tolerance of it as I move in and out. A scare that is already there that moves out of view and disappears quickly would be much better.

Maybe add an update that tells us what we could possibly have missed because I swear to god that there is no way there were anomalies when it sometimes said there were. There isn't that much to keep track of: three virtually empty rooms, toilet, warning stickers, the position of the tube, grate direction, shadows, face on mattress, carpet, vents, speakers, posters, locked door, "no cash" cold drinks, clock, lights, fan, box, crates, even color. There is no way that I keep missing something. I have played many of these types of games and I always catch what I missed when I see it again but that is NOT the case here. It says there is an anomaly and everything looks the exact same.

Simple but super tense anomaly horror. The small changes keep messing with your head, and the atmosphere is creepy without overdoing it. Worth playing if you like this genre.

It's more expensive and lacking in tone and aesthetics compared to The Exit 8. It honestly feels like a game jam title that belongs on itch.io. Between the poorly made jump scares, the occasional hard-to-find anomaly, and the surprisingly annoying checker pattern floor texture that isn't even patterned properly, I'm fairly disappointed with the quality of this game. If it were half the price of The Exit 8, I'd be more forgiving. At the same time, I know the dev has to make a living. At least it runs well.
