IDK Why the devs deleted my review, I don't even know why, but I really hated this game. But what I do, I hate how the character moves, while also the game is slow loading most of the time, even having a decent PC nowadays would still make the loading slower, not because of your hardware, but because of the programming where the minimum loading time is specified. lmao

the visuals and music are breathtaking, easily the best parts of the game, though the controls feel frustrating at times and getting around the map becomes painfully slow without any fast travel option. 7/10.

Much like other negative reviews, the game has many redeemable qualities. By no means is this a bad game but it just isn't worth it and I got this game in a bundle a while ago for basically nothing. The graphics are solid though you can quite easily see outside of where you are supposed to. The controls in theory would be solid if not terribly slow and clunky (often has clipping on ledges, attack speed is slow). The plot is fine but nothing amazing. Exploration would probably mean more if it wasn't mostly just running from one place to another while avoiding enemies since they are more effort than they are worth. Like clearly there is something here if it was just tweaked a little to fix some of these issues (mostly the controls frankly) I would even try to finish it but for now, it is just gonna sit in my library incomplete.

For better or worse, Itorah thus far has been a very enjoyable game due to its simplicity. It’s a metroidvania but I wouldn’t say it aims for all the highs of the genre, it just doesn't stray too far from the road and tries to keep itself a “good game” by sticking to the true and tested gameplay of the genre. I’m recommending the game because at the end of them all, it’s a fun game. I have not tried to “break” the game like you would do normally in the genre, feels like there is not a chance to do so due the game being pretty straightforward, you can explore and need certain power ups to open more of the map, but the level design is very earnest, you don’t have the need to backtrack at all unless you really want to explore and usually you will not find anything that you didn’t already found during your first outing. The game "feel" as in how you move and attack is also pretty solid but takes cues from old games, so say you do get locked in place while animations are playing, thus you have to time your movements correctly, else you will get skill checked. I don’t know how much of the game I have completed thus far, HLTB has it around for eight hours of content yet I been taki…

It was mid. Like a true mid 5/10 game. Combat, story, general movement felt underwhelming. There is nothing in or about this game that really stands out or feels exciting. You get introduced to so few characters who you barely spend anytime with and the story is both empty and a little confusing. Its all so bland. But the two biggest take aways was that this did game does not have anything unique about it. It is the most basic by book metroidvania I've ever played which isn't a bad thing because sometimes you want that instead of weird gimmicks. Its honestly a game I would only recommend to people who have never played a metriodvania before (because its a good beginner game to get a feel of how to play this kind of genre before moving into more complex metroidvania's) or people like myself who love metroidvanias. Its solid with the combat, movement and world which make it easy to plow through without hitting a wall. Again its a good teaching game for other metroidvania's because even the "powers" you gain throughout the game are just skills that other games will have you using at the beginning of the game but this one spreads them out and gives you ample time to master each one. …
