About Jamboy, a Jelly-cious Hero

Jamboy: A Jelly-cious Hero, is a vibrant action-platformer starring an unusual protagonist: a jam-packed hero who, inevitably, seems to have an innate talent for falling into sticky situations. The game is structured around a series of short stories in episodic format offering a fascinating fusion of genres guaranteed to hold the player's attention. Adding to this ingenious game design is the charming aesthetic of its hand-drawn art, and sly humor, which adds to the fun of the gameplay experience in the style of the classic "Earthworm jim."
Jamboy and Billy find themselves in a frantic escape from a relentless police donut! Reflecting on the succession of unfortunate decisions that have led them into this complicated situation, they are surprisingly engulfed by an unexpected character: Damien! And who is Damien? It turns out he's a huge guy who happened to be right in their path. How unfortunate... that's what happens to them for not keeping their eyes wide open! After this unusual incident, Jamboy is forced to enter the depths of the giant. A labyrinth of tunnels awaits him, infested by monsters made of food. Although the entrance to this fleshy cavern was unintentional, finding the exit promises to be a test of skill and cunning.

EXTRAS

Jamboy has even more to offer! Discover an achievements system and a gallery where you can relive your best moments and view all the audiovisual material you unlocked throughout the game.

Jamboy is just a nice jam-dude. He doesn’t speak much, so most things we know about him are through his actions. He seems to be a bit of a pushover, as his pal Billy always easily convinces him to take part in his mischievous plans. Maybe he agrees with his plans...or maybe he’s just to shy to say no. Will he learn to draw the line at some point?
Billy is quite the rebel. In his youth, he always did the opposite of what he was told. He likes to steal stuff and run away from the police...or at least that’s what his hobbies seem to be according to his dating-profile description, maybe he’s just trying to sound tough. He’s also quite the manipulative bastard, he always blackmails his best friend Jamboy into participating in his twisted plans. Overall, not the most pleasent fella, but he grows on you.

In a time where the Video Game Industry reigns supreme above all other arts in both scale and revenue, it seems like we barely get true indies anymore. And I'm not talking about masterpieces like the recently released Silksong, with its infinite funding and years upon years of developing; I'm talking about the true indie gems, the small-scale miracles conjured by only a few, up-and-coming minds. Thankfully, we just got Jamboy for us to add to that list. This is such a charming game all around; it's difficult to take your eyes off of it. For starters, you get the banger art style, which is not only unique and great to look at, it's also super cohesive and gives the whole a thrilling vision. It really looks complete and rock solid, without a single sprite or texture looking like it came from somewhere else, which is even more impressive when you consider the sheer amount of stuff happening everywhere on the screen. Every mob, terrain, platform, background, midground, decoration, item... Every single thing in this game is perfectly tuned in synergy with the rest, creating vibrant scenarios with an impressive amount of detail. There's really not an empty or boring spot to look …

Almost a good platformer until the janky hit dectection, slipshod jumping and archaic design sink this title to the bottom of the jam jar.

Jamboy is a whimsical game, filled with personality, that offers quite a bit of challenge for those who like a bit of spice to their gameplay. The challenge is fair and the curve of difficulty felt super natural. Also, I need to talk about this game's visual department. It's unique artsyle really struck with me, the jaw-dropping animations and sprites really bring this world to life. I can't wait to get back and finish the game.

On a visual note, this game exceeded every expectation. As a player, who's unfamiliar with platformers, I gave this one a shot, casue of it's cheap price, and was fascinated by it's visual quality. The story is really funny & goofy, and overally really enjoyable. You can't help but laugh at the whacky nonsense that's going on in front of your eyes. The handpainted look of the game and it's charming personality, feels like a breath of fresh air.

Oh, I'm sooo hungry after playing this game! Jamboy, a Jelly-cious Hero is a super enjoyable game inspired by all time classics like the Rayman saga. What I liked the most about this experience was the colorful and fun art style. The scenarios, characters and enemies have such personality, showing the care and love put into them. I'm obsessed with all the details and I spent the whole game wanting to eat every single platform! The soundtrack fits the levels and aesthetic really well, and I didn't get tired of listening to it all the time. The game offers different difficulty levels, so every player can enjoy the Jamboy experience their own way. I think the levels were challenging enough to have fun trying to beat them without getting frustrated. Thank you for creating such a beautiful and fun game to enjoy. Jamboy will definetly be in my autumn favourites!
